Brake pad sensor help
Hey all,
I’ve got a 2006 330i and am hoping someone can help me with an issue I have with the brake pad sensor. I took the car in for inspection the other month and the tech tells me that my brake light is now on because he removed the brake pad sensor due to damage (the light was never on until AFTER I took it in for inspection). I figured it was no big deal and I’d just buy a new one and replace it. So I buy a new one and went to install it today, but when I went to put it in, there was no connector in which to connect the sensor. I mean, there was no place to connect the white plastic connector. Does anyone know what the wire (or harness) is called that I will need to order? I took the fender liner out and at about the 12:00 position there is a little wire hanging down with some type of small connector on it which I am assuming is where this other wire would connect and then run down to where the brake pad sensor connects. I hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks in adavance! |

There are only 2 brake sensors on the car, Left Front, and Right Rear. The front is in a little junction box with a little trap door that flips open. The rear you've got to remove the wheel well housing to plug it in.

Thanks for your reply. It is the rear. I have the sensor which has a white plasic connector as shown in the photo. I do not however have the part that the sensor plugs in to (the part with the black wire coming down from the top of the photo).

I'm confused. It looks like you just need to separate the sensor from the harness (car side). I don't see anything missing.

Sorry for the confusion, that picture is not one that I took, rather it’s just one that I found online to demonstrate what I mean.

Oh gotcha. And you're sure you're looking at the correct side as mentioned above? There is only one sensor on the rear, and it's on the passenger side wheel.

From what im understanding is that the car side connector port is broken with wires exposed? or the wire is totally missing?
Check RealOEM.com to see if you can get a part number or a better idea These Snap-in connectors seem to be the closest to the cable type, if this is what your looking for... http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=61_1296
