Danial Ricciardo to Renault

Wow! I don't think anyone saw that coming esp with him saying this past weekend that it was a matter of formalities with resigning for RedBull.

That was a bit of a surprise. I wonder how much the Red Bull / Honda deal next year have to do with his decision. Then again, is not like he have a lot of luck with the Renault PU this year.

Probably a good move for him to be the clear top driver at Renault. Too much focus is on the golden boy Max at RB.
sorry Phil

No problem my friend , it's OK

But I can't wait to see the 2019 Honda engine . Let us hope that the Honda keeps up with the Mercs ...
In short ...I would love to see a F1 battle with equal weapons in 2019 !
Would be awesome....

I've seen signs at F1 races in the past:
Red Bull Racing: Screwing Ozzie's since 2007.

Wishful thinking the Honda can go from the bottom of the field all the way to the top, there is a chance redbull isn't in the top 3 next year if the Honda switch doesn't work out. So in that case it would have been a good move for the ozzie.

There is a battle in 2018, Ferrari seems to have the better engine at the moment, but as you can see it takes more than an engine to win a race.

Yeah . I agree with your statement . But I'm pretty sure Horner already saw secretly (promising) Jap tests with the Honda engine. Because the Red Bull bullet is huge in F1...
In other words ...With Red Bull .It's not a shot in the dark .

Funny to hear Horner slagging off Cyril during the Hungarian race, given these events. Don't think Renault is entirely to blame either.

RB have made it clear for a while that Max is their man so fair play to Ricciardo by leaving. Something about Horner grates me. He certainly comes across as a smug twat, he would be well suited to Ferrari in that respect.

RB certainly don't seem to like Aussies either! They will carry on favouring golden boy for the second half of the season, clearly.

Hope Danny does well at Renault.

Sure, and I like Stoffel very much. But being an Alonso teammate turned out to be a career suicide.

Renault PU seem to be a lot more reliable when they are not in a Red Bull.
