I love this race, I think it's a fun track to look at.
Regarding the Championship I think this is it. Vettel needs to win and Hamilton needs to have a serious problem resulting in low or no points at all. If Ham wins or it goes something like a Vettel/Ham 1/2, I think it's over. |

Vettel going ultra aggressive on tire choice again. If Ferrari pull that dumbass strategy like in Singapore I'm going to lose my mind. The team has made many personnel changes since the turbo V6 era began because they were way behind Mercedes, hopefully they can make some changes in the race strategists' department as well.
I think the title is Hamilton's unless he gets into accidents or has mechanical retirements. Next year Ferrari and Mercedes will be favorites with maybe a slight advantage to Ferrari based on how they have developed the past two years to catch Mercedes. |

Really looking forward to this.
I reckon it will be super close between Merc and Ferrari. Hopefully Hamilton takes it, but realistically, he only need to finish in the top 3 to keep his title hopes alive. |

I’d say technically Vettel moved twice on that block. But for the sake of the championship fight, good no call.

Fantastic race from Max!
I wanted to throw my drink at the screen when near the end of the race the commentator says "Lewis really deserves this win". C'mon man, Bottas got pole and was leading easily until he was instructed to move over for Hamilton. If anybody deserved to win it was Bottas, especially since he's yet to stand on the top step of the podium all year. Hamilton already had a huge lead in the championship and he was going to add even more to it by placing 2nd. WEAK |

I felt bad for bottas, but this is a classic move.
I really thought hamilton had pole if it wasnt for overshooting that corner, and from there on the race win |

Ultimate goal for Mercedes as a team is to secure both championships, drivers and manufacturers. Mathematically it was the right call. Everyone knows Bottas deserved that win. Lewis and the team made no attempt to hide that. Bottas is a class act, I have no doubts he will be rewarded towards the end of the season. Last edited by hellrotm; 10-01-2018 at 01:00 AM.. |

100% correct call, but Mercedes should be ashamed of themselves.
They had to know Bottas has historically done well on this Sochi track. So then, WHY the hell did you let him get pole? Didn't they think if Bottas got pole, he had a good chance to win the whole race? And then they went and took it away from Bottas. 100% correct call, but you should be ashamed of yourselves Mercedes. |

If its 100% the right call, why be ashamed? I feel really bad for Bottas, and you could tell LH did as well. If the WDC gets locked up, I'm sure they will find a way to make it up to him.

The sad thing is that Kimi is showing himself to be just as good a wingman as Bottas, but Ferrari is letting him go because they sense that Vettel may not have what it takes to beat Hamilton currently so they want to gamble that LeClerc may have that or at least force Vettel to step it up. If Vettel were leading in the drivers points Ferrari would have deferred to him in terms of keeping Kimi. At this point though I think Vettel is what he is and under pressure he can make mistakes. Next year Ferrari will need a clearly superior car to beat Mercedes.
