Clear Wrap - how far did you go?
I'm looking at a quote for Front bumper, lights, full hood, lower rocker panels, mirrors, and rear wheel arches (behind wheels), plus B pillars.
I've never used the product and am going on the installers recommendations for coverage. What else have others covered? I don't want to go overboard, but also want enough protection.

Good questions...
I wrapped the whole car, so here are some other areas that you may be interested in. -Door jams / sills. Many people drag there shoes in and out. Especially a lady with high heeled shoes. I see many door sills with scratches. -Inside the door handles. Rings, ladies finger nails may all scratch this area -Carbon fibre roof? |

Wondering if front quarters and maybe two front doors are worth it too.

I did the entire front quarter of the car (hood, lights, bumper). Installer threw in door handles and trunk sill. The only thing I would consider next would be the roof. If that gets damaged, it won't be easy to repair unlike the other areas that are painted.
I went for coverage of the most exposed areas and likely to be hit. |

Initially I was going to do what you mentioned above. After talking to other people and looking at other cars that had the same package of work done, I decided to clear wrap the whole car. The biggest issue that I saw was after a year or two a lot of dirt was getting around or under the PPF above the wheel arches and the rocker panels. Also since the whole panel was not covered you could see a line.

XPEL wrapped the full hood, full fenders, full front bumper, full side skirts, full rear bumper, and mirrors. Also had the whole car ceramic coated. XPEL was $3,100 and ceramic was $1600. I would not wrap the roof, but 100% ceramic coat it. It completely changes it in my opinion

Curious though, why would you not want to wrap the cf roof? |

I did as i usually do on all my cars. Entire front end, mirrors, a-pillars, roof, rockers, lower portion of the doors and lower rear bumper. Also, Door edges and top of rear bumper near luggage area. This time i added top of trunk as i removed the OEM CF spoiler to replace it with M-Pro version so when i beta link glue it in event i want to take it off i dont have to worry about clean up, i'll just remove xpel :-) I'm also waiting for xpel to release pre-cut templates for gloss black door side pillars and will do those as well.
Install turned out great since installer is super patient and takes his time to achieve perfection. Now its time to throw on all black all parts from IND and drive this thing! |

If you're not doing the whole car, I would suggest doing the entire rocker panel and at least a third of the way up the doors on both sides, to the sheet metal crease. My original Xpel job just did a small part of the lower rocker behind the wheel well and not all the way past both doors. Recently I added skirts on both sides and while I was on my back closely examining the rockers it was obvious that small road rocks are doing a number on the paint- small scratches that you cannot see at a distance, but now that I know they're there, it bugs me. Hopefully the side skirts will keep some of that rock trash off the rockers.

I'm not sold on this car wrapping, are you guys keeping your cars forever? I like the idea of the carbon roof to protect it, but the rest is paint, it can be fixed. And for 6-10k you can do alot of fixing... |

You have a 2021 M5 right? So it's practically brand new. That sounds like a very overpriced shop/quote since you would assume the paint correction required is minimal on a new vehicle. A full vehicle wrap is pricey but not $10,000 pricey.
