Naked K and R bikes are hot but not that hot compared to some of the Japanese bikes. They are however better overall machines than the current competition for the tasks they are designed for, in my opinion. I pick up my new R1200RT on the 31st. I hope you're not talking about that as a first bike.....
too much power for a beginner (if you are, you may not be) BMW bikes seem to be a bit souless, much to the opposite of their cars. Comfortable as hell, dependable and durable as hell. but boring. now something italian and fragile on the other hand.............. monster, tuono, or (british) speed triple |

Let's ask ex-Duke basketball star Jason Williams what he thinks of bikes. Some guys just love the rush of adrenaline but personally, I have a g/f and two dogs that depend on me.

I was just going to say that I'd get a Hayabusa if I was getting back into my 2 wheel lifestyle until I found out that the Beemer has 163HP.

http://www.msf-usa.org/ These guys put on classes at local JC's where for about $200 (IIRC) you get a 2 day class with riding on their tiny little training bikes. At the end of the session if you pass you have earned the equivalent of your motorcycle learners permit AND passed the riding portion of the motorcycle M1 license. That way you get a chance to ride a little bit, and when you get your M1 at the DMV you only have to take a written test (skipping the stressfull riding portion, which is awkward with the person from the DMV on the back) Then you'd just need a bike, When I lived in socal I used to go on rides with the crew at www.socalsvriders.com |

Are the socalsvriders those annoying dumbasses who travel in huge packs of 100+ and cause such a racket along major shopping arteries such as Melrose, Santa Monica, etc.? I couldn't believe this dumbass actually drove *on the sidewalk* ... doing 45 mph on a wheelie...
