Exclamation McLaren Senna hypercar caught fire

As some might already know, the first mclaren sennas have delivered to owners and one has already caught fire.

Youtuber salomondrin had his senna burn down after a week of ownership, details have not been released, but some say they run real hot

I know of 2 others in europe that crashed, which leave 497 out there of the senna's 500 limited run

Could this be a factory fault of this new hypercar? Would mclaren gift sal with a new senna? Do manufacturers go outside their limited run numbers?

UPDATE

salomondrin posted his first reply to this, he def looks distraught

There should be a more complete vid coming out about this soon

That's a shame. You want to believe that the folks at McLaren are taking a long hard look at design and engineering for possible issues. I suspect they will want the wreck to deconstruct it and determine if there are design issues.

Whoa, that happened to Salomondrin? I just saw his video recently where he took delivery of it.

We should get an interesting YT video out of this.

He said the car had 50 miles on it at purchase as he bought it from the original recipient of the allocation and didn’t get a chance to spec out the car.

Whatever the issue he had very bad luck unfortunately and has been blacklisted by most manufacturers from getting their “special” cars.

His video comparing his Senna Delivery to Shmee’s is hilarious.

Anyone see pics of it? I wouldn't be surprised if it decided to self-destruct given how poorly he specced it. That color scheme

Just kidding obviously. Major loss and you don't wish this kind of thing on anyone, even if Salomondrin is insufferable and if his recent content is unbearable.

Yeah, from the Schmee comparison video it looks like Salomondrin couldn't get one of the 500 cars from McLaren because he's black listed. He had to pay somebody in the que $500k for his spot, and had to accept the car as the previous owner spec'd it. That's why in his delivery video, him and his crew all went to the McLaren dealership with masks on and such lol. I have to imagine McLaren isn't too thrilled with the guy who sold his spot to Salomondrin, but yeah super rich people problems.

He's in a pretty weird spot right now I'd have to imagine. Since the factory didn't want him to have a car in the first place, are they going to be interested in helping him out here with a brand new car? Also what about insurance, would an insurance payout also include the $500k premium he had to pay to get the car (doubtful, but I guess you can insure cars such as these for more than retail cost right?). I hope he does alright here, but I could see him getting hosed for a substantial amount of money on this.

Apparently most youtubers are not properly insured when driving other peoples cars, i'm not sure how it is with his own cars. I wonder if insurance could claim he was using the car for commercial purposes (youtube) and deny his claim.

I would never own a McLaren. Yeah, all supercars and some sports cars are prone to catch fire, but these cars aren't even in the least bit able to be worked on.

Yeah, um ... something stinks here. Salomondrin already does because of his self-promotional self-entitlement antics ... and that makes me think he's not above doing something to this car to attempt to sully McLaren's decision to reject him as not just a patron, but a customer.

Ping me when Chapter Two hits the Interwebz. I guarantee there'll be one.

Idk i dont think he stage this, or fraud,

this car's exclusivity is something he desire alot

you can tell by his envy of schmee that he wants to have these elite toys

I wouldn't think that he thought if he burned down his car that mclaren would be too keen on giving him another since they already turned him down, plus he paid almost 2mil for it, i wouldnt think this is staged

Money cannot buy common sense. This has been proven time and time again throughout history.

In fact, I'd argue that money siphons away common sense more often than not.

I’d say a FOB spec’d the car originally but I didn’t notice any Supreme logos on it....

Not sure why the guy shut off the comments on his videos. It makes it seem more like something suspicious is going on. Guy like that has to have his toys his way and with the “accidental fire” he can now possible get the car spec’d his way....

He posted a 2nd vid today... the plot thickens... Galpin is a great shop. But it looks like they took the car apart(somewhat) to tint the windows. I bet their lawyers are having a cow over this...

Waiting for a 3rd vid.. lol

PS: What are those weird logos on the Senna's door and hood mean ?

that last vid was really good too!

this is why i appreciate salmondrin, he shows you lil bits and bytes that other ppl dont, like I wanna see the good, bad and the ugly when it comes to these supercars, and supercompanies. for ex. I didnt know you would need to trickle charge the car every day, otherwise youd have to take apart the whole assembly to access just the battery

these big corps they dont like that unless you are bootlicking them 24/7 and dumping tons of ca$h into their cars every couple years, other youtubers are good and nice, but some of it is a lil too formal, and good info no doubt,

but you also want it raw too...

it wouldve been nice to see the progression of this senna, shame

Dackelone
i think those logos are prob for some cannabis company in cali
