Home theater setup

Hey, so I've finally decided to invest into a semi-serious home theater room.

I have 500 sq ft of space and I have so far sourced or about to source:

Audio:
1x Klipsch 5502-w-ii center in-wall
4x Klipsch 3650-w-ii front front and rear in-wall
2x Klipsch 1800-c ceiling
Sony 1080 AVR

Video:
EPSON 1060 projector
Elite Screen 100 inch 1.1 gain motorized screen with recessed mount

Any thoughts?

I would...but I don't have P1et money. I'd have to sell the M6.

I have 4 elitescreen 120" screens that I used for a conference I did last year. They aren't the motorized versions but they are exceptionally well made and easy to setup for the price.

Photos here (probably more on that )

I'll let you know. It's not installed yet. I was attracted to the screen based on the numerous reviews online and pricing.

I also bought the recessed ceiling kit. I'll take some photos when it's installed.

The only known issues are
- the screen either drops too far or not enough. There's a way to adjust the motor alignment
- the screen comes out wrinkled from the packaging. Keep it dropped for 2+ days initially

I just go the Klipsch in wall speakers yesterday. They are a thing of beauty. It's a shame I have to put the grill covers over them.

I will take your covers if you don't want them.

I have the same line of speakers and the painters or contractor seemed to have lost the covers. Need to contact klipsch to see if I can buy just the covers.

Sorry I need them. I have kids, so they're going to poke at them if I don't cover it.

You can definitely buy it from Klipsch, call them, but I learned they may sell them in larger packages as they're not intended as direct to consumer product. That was the case for the rough-in brackets. They only sold them in packages of 10 for the common sizes.

Good to see another Klipsch reference series owner. What's your setup? Are you happy with it?

yeah, I know the Sony receiver is a weak point. I'm getting it for free, and the current receiver I have won't support Dolby Atmos. Since I'm getting it for free, I'm going to use it until I'm tired of it. It does what I need it to do.

I was just kidding, but do need to stop procrastinating and call Klipsch.

I have 2 R - 5800 W II's for the front left and right, a CDT 3800 C for the center, and 4 CDT 5650 C's for the rears.

I honestly never gave it a real test yet, we haven't been in the house too long. The room is really for the kids and family movie night. The TV is an 85 sony 900f and the receiver is a pioneer lx503

FYI. Classe went out of business. I was looking into getting one of their surround processors. Really unfortunate. I still have one of their older CD players...CDP .3. Thing is built like a tank but suffers from a dim LED screen as it seems other .3 players seem to have as an issue as well.

I've got some Nautilus 800 series speakers in both my multichannel system (4xN804 and an HTM-1) and the 2 channel system (N805) at my vacation home. It's incredible how these things don't depreciate even after all these years.

One of these days I'll have a house with a dedicated listening room, or at the very least, a nice cinema room. It's definitely always been on my wish list to have some 800-series speakers with some beefy amps to power them.

Nice job on the 804/805s. And you're right; you won't lose money on them.

One of the reasons it's going to be very hard for me to sell my house. The room I built out was a long time in planning and building. Dedicated power feeds with balanced power transformers. Acoustical treatments.

I wanted to stretch and get a set of N802s. But couldn't swing it. I think I have a balanced system with the N804s and HTM1. Helps to have two Velodyne subs (HGS15II and DD18).

And beefy amps....Got a Bryston 6B-ST driving the front 3 channels (bench tested at 300W RMS all channels driven) and a Emotiva XPA-2 (225W per channel RMS) driving the two rears.

there's better options out there than Klipsch as they are very bright! I'm very active on the AVSforums I would look there for options and opinions. No subs? that's one of the biggest components in a Home Theater setup. also, the 2x for the ceiling I would look into doing .4 if you're looking for a complete Atmos experience.
