Student Loans

Does anybody have any recommendations on what company I should take out a private student loan from..? So far I've just randomly applied to Chase and was approved but the interest rate is really high, because I'm looking to deffer the payments untill after I graduate..

Yeah, I've already accepted it, but seems like I'm a little short... My tuition is covered for, but my housing isnt, and NYC isnt one of the cheapest places to live in, esp for a low income college student.

lol, . The bimmer stays with my parents, I wouldn't even get back 40k anyways.. I'll be attending NYtech, its not a prestigious school or anything but its cheaper than Pratt, Columbia, etc..

I have a really low interest rate through Wells Fargo ( <3%) but they are a pain to pay unless you have an account with them.

I also have loans through www.dl.ed.gov which are nice and easy to payy off and you get points off your interest rate for making payments on time and doing direct withdrawals

I have Chase but they are for my stafford loans, rates right now are pretty high unless you have excellent credit. Sallie Mae is another company to look at but rates my be the same without strong credit.

Hmm, even though my credit may not be perfect I had my parents co-sign, and they have an excellent score.. yeah thats what I thought, since the economy is in pain, the rates are expected to be very high... but the sales rep said that the rates could go down over time... I will look into Sallie Mae though, thanks!
