The A4 cab will be discontinued and will be replaced by the A5 cab. Audi are using the A4 name for the Sedan and the A5 name for Coupe and Cabrio.

I also think this new engine should be very interesting. A lot of people feel that the S5 is underpowered. This is Audi's chance to turn that around. I guess a lot of V8 owners will be pissed though.

Yeah I had the same thoughts a while back when they were talking about incorporating a TFSi V6 in the S5. It's like the people that got bent over with the e90 330i.

I thought they were sticking with the V8 in the S5 for another 2 years or so(Yes even after it debuts in the upcoming B8
S4). Anyway, I hope your right.

BTW, when is the S5 cabrio's debut?

god the s5 is a hot car...almost wish i had gotten an a5 with s-line package instead of my 335i...but then i wouldn't be able to slap a jb3 on there!

There shouldn't be the same weight penalty on the S5 as there is with the M3 Cab, I wonder how stiff it will feel. You seldom find cars which were designed as soft-tops to be anywhere near as stiff as their Coupe and saloon versions.

I remember being loaned a TT roadster while my TT coupe was in for a service and finding the thing awful. The only soft-top that feels decent in the Boxster.

I know when I had the S5 coupe the amount of head turning I got was unreal, whether the M3 will do the same is debatable, I reckon not because that design has been out for a few years longer than the Audi.

But then those in the know will appreciate it which is all that counts.

Nice, looks like I better start saving up for when the new supercharged engine gets in the S5. The best thing about the new engine besides the better fuel economy (finally!) is that new buyers of the S5 won't have to pay the gas guzzler tax!
