Audi TT-R and RS5 uncovered
Note that only the final front bumpers are shown here. The rest of the "RS5" is just the S5 body and the rest of the "TT-R" is just the TT S-line body.

Audi Magnetic Ride
Instead of conventional damper oil, the shocks are filled with a special fluid whose viscosity can be controlled by an electromagnetic field. The TT harnesses the fluid's electromagnetic properties to deliver the appropriate damping forces in every driving situation.

I dunno what to say. I mean, they're definitely more aggressive, but I don't necessarily think it makes either of them better looking than their S counterparts.
The RS5's front end looks...I dunno...awkwardly proportioned. The TT-R's front end just looks ridiculous...in a good and bad way.

I also prefer the S5's slat-styled grille to the RS5's honeycomb-style.

Haha yeah. That does end up being the case in most situations, but I dunno. After seeing a TT-S in person (as well as a Q5), I don't think this is holding true with recent Audi designs (barring the S5), at least in my opinion.

I feel as though Audis don't photograph well. Photos of the S5 do nothing for me, then I see one and I'm making a U-turn for the audi dealer.
To me the styling of the lower intakes of these cars look a lot like the e90 aero package. Are those twin intercoolers in the outer intakes of the RS5? |

I agree on the RS5. However, I think the photos arent doing it justice. The S5 looks crap in pics but beautiful in real-life. Imagine seeing an S5 in real-life with bigger front intakes, I think it'll look good. The RS grille will look cleaner too. It wont have a bar for the license plate which is a good idea IMO. I think the TT-R looks good but the intakes look a little too big. Again, we come back to the problem of Audi's huge grilles. It limits what they can do with the front end. It means Audi have to give HUGE front intakes to make their cars look like "RS" models. That said, Audi's usually look a LOT better in real-life for some reason. Right now I'm more interested in performance figures and specs for these cars, but I def want to see the rest of the final designs. I want to see them in another colour. I hate black.

Yes, I think a new thread was necessary. Now I'm waiting for next week's RS5 spyshot thread.
Best regards, south

After seeing that front picture of the RS5 it looks to have two intercoolers, one on either side. This thing has to be turboed, it's the only reason for having the intercoolers.
If this isn't an RS5 then what could it be, is there anything else that Audi are bringing out that could possibly need intercoolers? |

The RS5 isn't doing it for me either... but that TTR is crazy, I really like the way they incorporated the ClubSport design.

So if the TT-S is priced around 65k, does this mean we're going to see an $80k TT with the TT-RS?
I was blown away when I saw the price of the TT-S. I thought 50k would be a highend TT.

I could disagree. What makes any car better than the other anyway, its all a matter of opinion.

...what? Despite my not-so-pleasant views on the exterior changes of these cars, I'd give away my 335i in a heart beat for either one. Okay, maybe for the RS5, but I'd give a lot of thought about the TT-R.
