Watch in horror as a 911 GT2RS slams into a Pagani Huayra!
Daaaaaaaaaamn!!!!!!
https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cul...pagani-huayra/ I understand that you're on a Track and take responsibility for potential outcomes. But still... I can't say that i wouldn't be pissed off as the HUAYRA owner. The Porsche costs a Tenth of the price.

I wonder why the pagani door popped open. I can imagine it may b more likely on that style latch location and the intensity of the hit and the relative undeformed door.
But it may be due to the fact a pricey car like that doesn’t go through many crash test ? |

The real stupid part is that this was on the outlap and the cars had just got on the track and not even finished a lap. No point/need to be going that fast into the corner especially with a car in front of you like that.

Wonder what the full story is, was it a dive bomb, gt2rs thinking he was being let by? Did gt2rs overshoot the corner and had some sort of failure?
Did Pagani driver punch get out and throw punches? lol, we need to know!

GT2RS line is exactly how i take every corner in Forza.
First time i’ve seen someone do it IRL though. In real life you can’t set “car damage” to OFF |

911 owner is going to be making a new thread on Rennlist, "Just picked up a 1994 Nissan Sentra"

I don't see how the Porsche owner could be sued for this even though it seems the driver was a douche. It's track incident and I don't see how the Porsche owner would be held liable.

If this wasnt an outlap I would say the pagani is completely unaware of surroundings, however on warm up this shouldn't happen

Good grief, no idea what GT2RS man was thinking/doing.
Pagani looks pretty awful in this however, the door should never fly open in a crash like that. Damn. |

Because the waiver prevents the track from being held responsible, but could the driver not still present a civil suit against the person that caused the damage?

I was at a track event where some fool did the same thing on the out lap. Speared another rider taking out her motorcycle. From what I gather, the at fault rider was encouraged to cover the other rider's damages but nothing obligates this at fault rider from what I know. Taken from another angle, race teams would be suing each other for things they perceive as gross negligence resulting in their cars being taken out from races. To my knowledge, I've never heard of anyone successfully suing anyone else for an on track incident. |

There is no point in even trying any of that. If you can't afford to walk away from your car being totaled, don't take it to the track. Personally, I would just buy specialty HPDE insurance available from multiple, different carriers.........of course this if for the US, no idea if products like that are offered on the other side of the pond. |

If it could be reasonably expected that the crash could have been avoided, the guy probably has a civil case. If not, like steering suddenly failed prior, some other car created a situation they had to react to, etc., then no. If someone like that has $$$, they most certainly have $$$ for a lawyer. Would it be worth it? Well, it's a multi-million dollar car... I'm just reacting to the post above that says "I don't see how the porsche driver could be sued". I can see how they could be sued. Doesn't mean they would automatically win, but if they could prove with a preponderance of evidence the above, then they have a case.
