New profile field: Country flags

Hey I just added a new feature where you can add your country flag to your profile and it will display a flag at the bottom of the profile box, hope it works out well for everyone! Let me know if you like this, don't like it, etc...

To use this:

1) Click on "Settings" on the silver bar up top
2) Click "Edit Profile" on the first left hand column
3) Scroll down to "Additional Info" and add your country there..

Also, i've edited the graphic files and so some of the country flags won't show up correctly, if your country flag doesn't show up, please PM me and I can fix it ASAP.

That's the Union flag not England's flag which is the St George's cross -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:England_flag.svg

However I am learning to live with my own needless pedantry so you don't need to fix it on my account.

Lol your right, I'm working on it as we speak and the St. George's cross is on its way back.. within another 15-20 mins

The flags should appear under everyone's avatar/description area.

Great idea,

What about those with dual nationality or dual (or more) affinities. For example, someone could want to indicate their country of birth as well as the country where they are currently. It could be interesting to allow for more than one country.

I second that. Allow two countries, it would be useful!

Edit: My flag isnt showing up. Not sure if the image is not there or I'm just not finding it...

This doesn't get my approval. You must side with only one country!

Before you know it, all of the individuals with the urge to feel special will have an arsenal of 50 flags under their belt. Then it'll become a game of Pokemon - gotta catch 'em alllllll!

EDIT: I'm in the same boat as Poldim. Not showing up for me either - under the avatar. Running IE 6.0.2800.1106CO updated with SP1...if that helps.

Just tried all the different style versions and it only shows the flag for me when I'm using "Version 4.0 Simple Blue" Hope that helps.

Hey, sorry I'm not sure why the flag won't appear for you, but it might be due to the different style settings, currently it only works for Version 4.0 : Blue, however I will implement it into the other styles shortly. Let me know if this is your problem, or if you are using version 4.0 and still don't see it.

Russia is now fixed

As for 2 countries it would be hard to implement but i'll see if I can come up with a novel way to do that..
