Stroll to buy Aston Martin?
Apparently the Billionaire poised to launch bid for major Aston Martin stake. And will rename his F1 team to Aston Martin if successful.

Stroll purchasing Aston would be lifeline for Aston. Their stock price has plummeted since they went public and they have decreased their sales forecasts the last three times they announced them.
Stroll rebranding the Aston nameplate should be a good thing. He's done so with plenty of other companies. I'm assuming he'd still try and retain some of its company heritage considering it's a big part of its identity. The question though is how this would affect Red Bull considering Aston Martin is one of their sponsors. |

I see the benefits for Aston, but then it comes with Lance as your poster driver. Not a good image for Aston.

Lawrence Stroll...I've seen him on the podium after a really good drive in a Ferrari Challenge Cup car. He owns one of the four Ferrari P4's, (my favorite Ferrari prototype). If he doesn't step up to buy Force India, who knows if there would still be 10 Formula1 teams. He's a entrepreneur and a real car guy. Who better to purchase the hallowed Aston Martin marque?

My guess would be that he would keep the name and use other marketing means to boost the brand image and sales. I think anyone is smart enough to know that the Aston Martin name is worth too much to abandon it completely. Your point does bring up a conundrum now that I think about it : is it better to let Aston die slowly in its current state or is would it be better if someone like stroll bought them out and saved them, possibly renaming it in the process? Not saying either would happen, just an interesting mental exercise. |

Say what you will about Lance, but he at least won in the lower categories. The same can't be said about Nikita. |

I went to a meet at an Aston Martin dealer the other week and they do make some fabulous cars. If Aston need someone like Stroll to keep the marque alive then I'm all for it.
Not quite so keen on his boy having an F1 team bought for him....although he seems a capable F1 driver, he is not exceptional. |
