My first love and always will be the 1995 BMW M3 GT (E36). I hope someday to find one and maybe be able to restore and experience the drive.

Also love the E30 EVO, and my favorite all time is the E30 with the S54 transplant. Perfection.

Hardest to get will be the E92 M3 GTS.. also the most entertaining to drive so that's what I would go with.

They are the most capable, but easy to come by for the money. With the CSL or Evo, even if you have the money it will be harder to find one in good condition. I think in time the F8X CS models will be looked back upon very favorably as the last full bore RWD M car, but that's how nostalgia works.
