What are your expectations you have for the next 6 months for your
job/work/retirement?

For me:

Large global company. CEO put out an all hands global broadcast telling everyone the C-suite / ELT isn't even remotely considering the exploration of layoffs for at least the next 2 months, family first, take care of yourselves, cut people some slack if kids interrupt meetings and they have to step away in the middle of something, etc. Said if anyone gives you any crap for having to be a parent or spouse report it up the chain higher.

We all already WFH half the time anyway so it wasn't a big deal when we all went on mandatory WFH full time. Company has large cash reserves and is no danger of going under anytime soon, plus provides essential infrastructure to everyone from large corporations to banks to governments.

I'm good but was already exploring other options before the shutdown just for shits and giggles. Have a few backup irons in the fire one way or another and savings to last me a year if need be.

We have our focal review coming up really soon. Not sure about expectations. We’ve been continuing to work as if nothing happened. If anything people are more busy now since you can’t have quick hallway convos. Not sure if it’s fair to expect everyone to be 100% productive from this week on given the extended shelter in place order. WFH has its pluses and minuses.

Yea by like Thursday i dont know what day of the week it is anymore. This will be my third week working from home. On top of that i have not seen sunlight in NYC area for 4 like days cant even go outside for fresh air. was about to go spay some weeds around the lawn, started fing raining again....... gggrrrr

I work in a large international corporation providing essential services. They just announced that contractors are being furloughed. I expect the furloughs will go deeper in the future.

Own 2 small businesses, we'll make it through just won't break growth records like we normally do. Already a down year but I believe once this is over there will be a boom. Might even even out in the end.

not worried. I work in healthcare. Our clinic, although small, is a federally qualified health center. We have cash reserves for months thanks to our CFO. Govt has already given us a few 100k to help offset the cost of the crisis. i'd probably be the last person they'd fire as none of the nurse practitioners couldn't work without me here. GF works for the state and is very unlikely to lose her job either.

But if it were to happen and we both get laid off... between the paid off cars, stocks, and our checking accounts... we'd probably be good for 1.5-2 years even without any unemployment checks.

I work in a critical infrastructure related business and am able to work remotely. I am also retired military with disability. Our business hasn’t been impacted yet. So although I’d have an impact if I lost my job, I’d still have money coming in and would tighten my belt. I’d sell a car before I took my 401k out.

I work for a large global company, that does have a history of regular layoffs and/or package offers.

That said, I work in an area that is dedicated to improving the customer experience and removing cost at the same time. Given that if anything both of these will become more important for the next 6-12 months, I'm feeling about as safe as you can in the workplace of today.

Global healthcare corporation with myself classified under “emergency medical services.” My wife worked from home well before any of this hit also within healthcare. Financially we shouldn’t be affected if not even be doing a little better due to more billable hours. That said, I’m frequently in the “hotspot” hospitals in the region. Hope the financial stability ends up outweighing the risk.

Work for a large N. American company in an "essential" field, so while slower than average, we are hanging on. The CEO has definitely said that our employee and customer health and safety is priority #1, and they rounded up a ton of hardware for those of us who could make the transition to WFH. Made a bunch of changes to processes and budget expectations etc. Should be fine...

I work for a technology contracting company, most of our clients are school districts and medical offices. Both of those are going crazy right now, so business has been consistent so far. The company is also a bit understaffed as it is with a few positions waiting to be filled, so I doubt they would lay off workers. It would be more likely to suddenly be expected to take on more projects and responsibility just to keep things going. This is not a bad thing considering what most people are going through right now, but since many of our clients are in several different states it has been interesting to say the least.

Work for a large oil/gas contractor. The client I work for is slowing work due to current prices but we all know they will pick back up once the world gets moving again and demand goes up.

I'm good in my position as far as not fearing being laid off, but I'm sure some of the other disciplines might get let go depending on how slow my program gets as this thing drags on.

Not sure if 180 is considered small, but probably not a large corporation. We are not laying anybody off, we're riding it out ready to lay waste to our competitors who may not survive.

Well my renewals are in on the 1st company. 16% loss, most since 2008, normally have loss in the low single digits and most often 100% renews.

2nd company doing much better at 9% but with time to still renew, number should get better.

Commercial accounts 100% renew.

Revenue will be down 66% for the 1st company in April due to the stay at home, ouch! Talking to current customers I think we can recapture most of the loss after the stay at home is over.

2nd company will be the interesting one, luckily it won't see an impact on actual work for another few weeks.

I truly believe there’s going to be a “Explosion” of business once this settles. The world is shutdown. My hometown, NYC is going to bounce back strong. We are all in this together, and will get through it together. God bless us all.

I own a breakfast lunch restaurant in Arizona, MLB spring training central. Have been open a little over 5 years, with excellent growth all along. Every year, March is our best month. Our best week ever was 3/8-3/14 this year, and we were on pace to blow away March 2019 numbers, which was our best month ever. We closed the dining room on 3/18, and went strictly with delivery services and take out. March finished down 30% YOY. April will be most likely our worst month ever. That said, we are doing FAR more than other local restaurants. I ain't scared. We were rolling before this hit, and we will roll after it is over, but most likely in different ways. Businesses all over will need to shift the business model a bit to account for this going forward, and we are on it. Next.

I'm an Intel Officer for the US Government. Just got Furloughed. Half of the Gov, including essential personnel are currently NOT working. We are screwed from a CT or CI aspect if shit were to happen.

im an engineer at a large semiconductor company, i think i will be good. it is heartbreaking to see so many people struggling right now. i am so thankful to be in the current position i am in.

Plant Engineer in a chemical plant that is privately owned. Right now we have more work than ever as we have over 400 products.

Talking with the CFO yesterday, our plans are to keep pushing as much product out the doors as we can, temporarily suspend Capital Projects, and put away as much money as we can in case things drop off later.

We want to keep our people employed as long as possible without having to make any cuts.
