Exhaust Question

I have a question for any of the forum members with some knowledge of exhaust systems and how they work. The Aston Martin DBS exhaust has a very unique inside wall that seems to be perforated all the way around. I was very surprised when I saw this and realized that having seen an infinite number of exhaust tips from all kinds of vehicles I've never actually seen anything like it. My only conclusion for it to be manufactured that way would be the possibility of improved sound resonance. Maybe it has nothing to do with it but it is the only solution I could come up with. If someone else can actually post a definitive answer to the exhaust being the way it is I would sincerely appreciate it.

I think I remember a member on here that went through a ton of exhausts (can't remember his SN) and I swear one of them had something similar. I may be wrong but I want to say the exhaust was Zoomers.
