My car has a ceramic coating, so not sure if that matters. I see a lot of ppl use detailing spray as a drying aid. Before I pick some up I wanted to see what ppl were using here. Maybe a drying aid with ceramic is redundant?

I use a blower (Big Boi) for drying. You can use a leaf blower or a shop vac to do the same. If you want a drying aid I’d highly recommend Polish Angel, Cosmic Spritz. There is ceramic in the product and works as a sacrificial layer. You only need to use it once a month and takes the water beading up a notch.

I just bought a dewalt cordless leaf blower. 125mph/450cfm. I used it this past weekend but it seemed like it was taking forever to dry the car. I got frustrated and just went back to my microfiber drying towel. Maybe my technique needs work.

I also use a battery powered leaf blower. I have a ceramic coating.

I wash the car and then use it to blow most of the droplets of the hood and roof and around the mirrors, license plate, doors, ... to avoid droplets coming out after drying. Takes about 5 minutes.

And then I do the rest with a microfiber. Combining both is faster and has less droplets afterwards.

Drying with the leaf blower alone takes way to long.

I already had the leaf blower to blow leaves. Didn't buy it for the car.

This is probably how I'll tackle drying my next time. What I was doing previously was using the MF drying towel and then a small battery powered blower to get the door sills, etc with another MF towel to catch the trapped water.

Spend the money and get an EGO 650 CFM. I finally picked one up about 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back. I used a junky leaf blower for years and it was just "blah". The EGO has some serious power and "turbo" button that pumps out serious power. It is easy to dry the car, even the tough spots like the roof, under the tailgate spoiler lid, bottom of the tailgate, side skirts, etc. I can dry the truck with the 5 aH battery and still have 60% left.

I also use the CRSpotless system. Check that thing out if you get a chance. Spot free even in full sun.

After the final rinse, I take the sprayer off the hose and douse the whole car, so that the water sheets off (vs. droplets from a sprayer). Dry with a chammy (via the lay flat & pull method), then touch-up dry with microfiber. Works great.

+1 Use water to dry it LOL. remove sprayer and just let water run over the car and it will pretty much remove all of it.

Battery powered blowers suck, sorry, but they don't have the velocity of CFM to really dry a car quickly. I was using my gas powered Echo but recently my wife got me a Metrovac Master Blaster. Even with the Master Blaster it can be difficult to get around the whole car before water starts drying. The better your lsp protection is, the easier it is to get around the car with a touchless drying process. As for a drying aid for a ceramic coating, I have PA Cosmic Spritz and have to say it's an impressive product despite the price.

I strongly suggest you do your research. The EGO 650 CFM leads the market in CFM. I have used a lot of different leaf blowers along with my CRSpotless deionizer and the EGO is by far the best. Detailers around the world use the EGO 530 cfm, but the 650 is another level.

im a window cleaner and use the water fed pole system for work so after washing the car i rinse down with pure watter with a tds reading of '0' and never dry as it dries perfect, perks of the job i suppose!

That would definitely be the ideal solution. I could buy a water purification system, but I don't want to invest the money / garage space in one.

I have one and it is AWESOME! I have used CRSpotless for years and it is the best cleaning decision I have ever made. I can walk away in a blazing hot summer afternoon and it won't spot. I still blow off with an EGO, but just in case there are any suds left.

Do you have it hooked up to a pressure washer? My pressure washer outputs at 2.8 gallons per minute (max) which exceeds what they recommend (2.0 gallons per minute).

I do. I picked up an AR at Home Depot for about $125. It has been great for several years and keeps the GPM down to save water.

Should I get the ego 580 cfm or 650 cfm?
