Fairwell e90. PIX 56k, go take a drive.

Fairwell e90.

I said goodbye to my 2006 330i last week. I was thinking of buying 7k HRE wheels and tires last week to put on the e90 and reevaluated my situation.

I am 19 yearsold and when I first picked up my e90 I felt I got myself in deep, with it being such an expensive vehicle at the time. But I soon began to realise that the payments were not breaking the bank like everyone else made it seem like and were actually pretty easy, including insurance.

Now for the change------------

As I mentioned, after re-evaluating, I felt I wanted a new car. Not an e90 though. As much as I love it and still gaze upon them as traffic stops, I wanted something bigger. I loved driving the e90 alone late nights, as it satisfied my drving desires soo much, but I also didn't enjoy the room it gave. Now I don't mean to make it seem as if the e90 is small, as I feel even the 5 series didn't compensate my needs, I really wanted something bigger.

Now looking around at the dealership I saw a huge enourmous beast with 20 inch wheels, and 315 size tires in a bulldog stance grinning at everyone who passed it.

It was a 2006 X5 4.8is. Now I know why its called a 4.8is. The engine is massive. Even being faster than the e90 330i on a drag, this truck is not your regular SUV, but an SAV as BMW likes to call it. By no means is this a track-car (neither is the e90) but it definately isnt a school bus excursion or any other suv for that matter. Its quick braking and nibbleness respond like a sedan.

Enough talk, and more walk.

Here are the pics of my e90 and now my new X5. 4.8is.

Enjoy Guys!

This is e90 was well cared for and has never gone a week without a bath. It was completely swirl free upon delivery and my detail enthuasiasm made sure this car was swirl free 20k later.

Now for the new kind of the road!

How in the hell did you manage going from thinking a $36,000 car was expensive to a $71,000 X5?

And a $70,000 car at 19 years old--you must be either really stupid, completely supported by your parents, or making at least $200K a year.

I wish I had rich parents - but saving up for two years made me appreciate my E90 all the more.

Is the new X5 still due in September? We don't see many 4.8ltre X5's in the UK - they would bankrupt most people in a matter of miles!

Looks totally awesome!

The X5 has a really nice interior,I would have paid extra to have something like that in my E90.Even the the X5 steering wheel looks nicer, the E90 interior isn't ugly but some older model BMWs have nicer interiors and that's not right.

Hmmm, I think you should re-edit the post to say "But I soon began to realise that the payments were not breaking my parent's bank like everyone else made it seem like and were actually pretty easy, including insurance.

That is gorgeous, I absolutely love the X5. Hopefully ithe new X5 won't be adulterated in the redesigning process as all other BMW models have recently underwent.

I've heard confirmed reports that a new X5 is being launched at the end of the year...

Nice ride tho :-)

What does a 19yr old need so much space for?

I'm 20, and I think my E90 is too BIG for me. I want something smaller, like a 130i or a Mazda- Mx5

lol Im 20 too, i went from a 2002 Galant to a 330Ci to a MINI cooperS and now Back into a Four door. And coming out of the mini... well letme tell you the first day i tried to park next to the curb i rubed my right rear rear against it. Looks like shit lol. The mini since it was so small was an awsome car to drive. Even better after i did full suspension, GIAC, Intake, 19% pulley reduction, Plugs, and injectors. Man did that thing move. But the e90 is more confortable almost as fun to drive. But hell I want another MINI as my weekend car. lol

Edit: I misread the post, I thought you purchased the X5 in addition to the E90.

Nevermind, very nice car and choice of color.

Gotta love the hate on this site. Why do any of you care how he spends his $$ or whom pays for it?

BTW- To the OP, Awesome ride. Are you going to keep the 4.8is wheels or upgrade? My buddy has the 4.8is and put on the 4.6 wheels. Damn things looks amazing! Good Luck on your new ride.
