Talking C7 Corvette Z06 Owner Does a Clutch Barbeque While Trying a Burnout!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

The title is funny but the video is hilarious yet cringe worthy...

I can imagine seeing an ad for this Vette: "Gently Used and Well Maintained C7 Z06 For Sale".

The 'vette has always had a pretty high, and well-deserved, douche quotient. As a Ford guy, we called them "plastic Impalas." Although to be fair, the Mustang's douche quotient is right up there too.

If someone can't tell the difference between the smell of burning rubber and the smell of burning clutch lining, perhaps not having their toy for a couple of weeks and having to pay a few thousand bucks to get it back will help them appreciate the subtle differences in their aromas. It's the automotive equivalent of flying to France for a really expensive wine-tasting class.

What's equally funny or disturbing is that the filmers don't warn the dumbass drivers either.

I've always hated guys that feel this way.

Many people like Corvettes for a reason, same with the Mustang.

And in fact, if you'll see performance cars for what they are, meaning you are a true car guy, you can find something to love about every one of them. And yes, you can even find Corvette friends just as well as Mustang friends.

I never said I found nothing of interest in them. They're an outstanding value. I owned an '85 convertible and enjoyed it very much. My ex-father in law had a C5 that he insisted I drive and do a burnout in. One of my good friends is a past president of the Corvettes of Minnesota club. But I think it's a car that attracts more than its share of douchebaggery.

Apparently you find it very easy to hate and judge people who you know almost nothing about and who have directed no animosity towards you. That's sad.

I'm not sure who's the bigger idiot. The driver failing to do the burnout or the guy filming it who walks in front of the car with the guy inside revving the engine and burning the clutch.??

I wholeheartedly disagree, as the vast majority of Corvette owners are on in age. I think you're being quite unrealistic based on your tiny slice of the world.

They're a low price to performance ratio, which is going to attract a higher percentage of irresponsible owners than the more expensive cars with similar power output and lap times. MOST corvette owners are older, and generally responsible, but that doesn't contradict this

This makes no sense whatsoever.

Performance is relative. The 70's IS the 80's IS the 90's, and so on.

Now I'll give you the fact that when $40K cars hit the $20K market you're going to have issues, but I don't find that to be true with the Corvette crowd at all. I think you're mistaking them for Subaru/Mitsubishi/Camaro/Mustang owners.

You said it was a certain level of performance for the dollar, but that level of performance, per dollar, has always been the same for many years...even when the performance was minimal (like in the '85 Corvette mentioned above).

You're acting like the general skill of the time makes a difference, and it doesn't.

Corvettes end up being a lot of guys first sports cars. He's probably never done a burnout before.

I've had a C7 Z51 Corvette and have done hundreds of burnouts with no issue whatsoever. (Besides having to replace the back tires at 500 miles )

It's so easy even a retired schoolmarm could do in a church parking lot on Sunday.

Click off traction control, a gentle push on the brake and delicate tap on the accelerator, and you can barbecue those expensive Michelin 335/25-20" rear tires in minutes
