Experience with Silverstone interior?

I picked the standard black leather seats for my G80 (I can still change this) but I really like the Silverstone color for the seats/interior door panels especially since I'm getting the Brooklyn Grey exterior color. However, since Silverstone is a light grey color I'm wondering if they would be hard to keep clean or maintain. Would colors from clothes rub off onto the seats such as from your jeans when getting in/out over years of use. Anyone ever have this color in their car(s) and can shed some light on maintenance or your experience for this color?

I have Silverstone leather on my F82 M4. It’s definitely more work than black leather but it a really nice colour and easy to maintain if properly protected. Yes your blue jeans will rub off on to them but I had them coated with Gyeon Leather Shield (any decent SiO2 coating will work) which really helps. It all cleans off when it’s well maintained. Again I use Gyeon leather cleaner and leather coat. I don’t have any affiliation to them it’s just having used a lot of different products over the years I found theirs to be most effective at most jobs. Hope this helps, I too have gone with a Brooklyn grey!

I had SS on my E63 S85 and it was the nicest interior ive ever owned. It was indi Merino leather so not exactly the same but it does require some maintenance to be kept nice. Sweaty jeans can cause issues that require cleaning...but if i didnt hate the beaver grilles so much I would have likely gone with SS as the interior is the only saving grace for the new M3/4.

I've had it in a couple of M cars. It is really beautiful but shows dirt very easily...even shows, after a few months, that you wear a dark leather belt, if you wear one.

God bless,
TT

No regrets! Still looks good 5 years later with some regular maintenance and being careful e.g., I always put a cloth down before sitting if wearing new jeans, coming back from a hike/workout, etc.

Has anyone got any good photos of this interior on the G82 M4 with the carbon bucket seats? Can only find it on the standard ones.

Had it on my f80 - now have black. Loved it. Just be good about keeping it clean and use good products on it.

Thanks that’s really helpful. I’ve ordered Brooklyn grey with black interior but so torn between this and silverstone.

I've also ordered the same exterior color and interior as you. I think I will stick with the black interior because I've had black in the past and it's always held up well.

I have silverstone in my current M4c and it will scuff and stain. Easy to remove using sunscreen. Spray some on, wait a minute and wipe off stain.

This is one of those topics were people see it wildly different and it fully depend on your willingness to spend time frequently cleaning the interior. I had a very similar shade in one of my E36s and my F10 and have kept my promise to never get it again. I hated the soiled look between cleanings. Not worth it the few days it looks pristine IMO. One of my kids got an ink mark on the F10s rear seat, try get that off...

It doesn't age well over time even with regular schedule maintenance

I have Silverstone on my YMB F82 and have not had any issues, even with jeans etc, although to be fair my mileage is fairly low and I don't have kids getting in and out etc.

I do occassionally clean and condition them, but nothing special that you wouldn't consider doing on any leather seat.

I really like the colour combo with YMB exterior too, shame it doesn't seem to be an option even on the individual colour pallette, but I seem to be in the minority in that regard on this forum!

Had Silverstone on my E90 and ended up loving it. Much richer color than standard black and not as trendy as YMB.

Are you talking about interior or exterior? The interior silverstone is pretty much white. The silverstone exterior is silver.

Had this in my F80.

Beautiful colour but it does Mark very very easily. I wear jeans most of the then and sit in the car after the gym etc.

When I say Mark though, it cleans and wipes down very easily too, back to new.

Does take effort.

The OP talks about leather, seats, clothes etc. From the YMB you mention I think you're talking exterior.

Interior, and Silverstone is definitely grey not white. My E90 was AW/Siverstone.

The silverstone in my interior looks white. Are you sure your E90 interior wasn't Palladium Silver?

Nope, YMB is an interior color option. I don't think it is going to age well though as a color choice.

If you look at it next to the leather to sample Ivory you will see how grey it is. It is closer to Suzuka than Nardo though.
