Stupid Amazon/Ebay pandemic purchases

What are some dumb azz things you normally wouldn't have bought but since we have been wearing holes in our couches....you did!

Not Ebay/Amazon, but I built a $6000+ Racing Simulator.. Built back in April, used it a handful of times and just sold it a couple weeks ago.

When we started WFH in March, I rebuilt my entire home office. New huge desk, shelves, new lighting, new 27" iMac with a second 27" monitor plus a new Dell Windows 10 box. I figured we'd be WFH until there was a vaccine available. Then in July, the powers that be decided it was worth the risk to everyone's health to have us all come back into the office. Go figure.

I don't necessarily consider that a stupid purchase, though. And the gov't kindly footed a good part of the bill with the stimulus checks. So at least now I have a really nice home office setup.

I thought that ordering a one gallon jar of Maraschino cherries from Amazon was a good idea last May. It almost lasted me three weeks.

The craziest thing that I ordered from Amazon was a 100-pack of medical centrifuge tubes last April...when I don't even own a centrifuge!

Two years ago, we had an office contest to find the craziest item that is for sale on Amazon. Anyone want a box of communion wafers?????

Another e46 that I keep pouring money into via amazon and eBay... only in around 5k so far so it isn't that bad. One owner cali car with 140k on the clock. I now have 2021 tech in a 2003 so it isn't that bad.

While there're plenty of worthy contenders, 1500 lady bugs are yet to beat.

Back in the late 1980's, our receiving department at work opened up a box full of live crickets to confirm that the ordered quantity was delivered. It was hilarious to watch them try to round up the escapees over the next few days.....

an office chair that is nicer than what I have at my office, and a whole lot of wood working tools. Probably would have taken longer to buy them if I hadn't been stuck at home as much. Also a grand piano. This quarantine thing has been expensive :|
