Moving into my new place today. Having a one year anniversary of two weeks to flatten the curve party to celebrate. Louisiana is open.

My DW and I still have another week left of our state's post-travel quarantine after last week's road trip, so our excitement this weekend may be finally hooking up our new washing machine now that the re-plumbing is finished and doing the piled-up laundry from the trip.
On the normalcy scale, my employer is still in an emergency 100% lockdown for another few days after 80 new cases a few weeks ago. There is also a new strain being reported in NYC that is starting to reach our area, and it may be resistant to the current vaccines. I don't foresee normalcy any time soon.....

Working on rebuilding and upgrading a replacement turbo that I picked up for my truck, touch up paint in the dining room, go on a family walk if it's sunny, that's about it.
Things are 99% normal here. Everything is open including wineries, bars, and casinos, just with mask mandates for indoors. |

I went to Florida with a friend for New Years Eve. It was great having all the bars open. Ever been to Rum Runners in San Destin? Baytowne at the Wharf is AMAZING! |

Weather is supposed to be nice; I was going to wash the house, but found a little downtime to knock that out this week. May head to the beach. May get my bike out on the trails. May do both. Need to finalize my camping trip I’m doing next weekend, too.

Its the Sunshine State...its always nice here. Been digging the last few days with a bit cooler temps for sure. Would love to take my wife/son camping (tent....real camping), but wife is too afraid of snakes/spiders. So it might end up being a boys get away if I really want to make it happen. Used to goto KOA camping as a kid every summer break for 3 weeks.....GREAT memories.

I'm going to take the time machine out and check out 1981 for the weekend. Hopefully it won't break down again and leave me stranded in the pre-internet desert.

I'm going to sit in the new car and try to learn the Nav and sirius, so that once I get to drive it I'll know how to work things (sort of like car-methadone). And gotta wash the 228, as she is filthy from commuting in this crap.

Nope - it is a grain farm. We never had livestock. When my father retired many years ago he started cash renting it out. When he passed we kept it and still rent it out. I keep the house on it up and I still spend weekends there often. It's a 1/2 mile square and the house is in the middle of it. so nice and peaceful.
