I have a Nikon D70 too. Over 4 years, several drops, more than 10,000 shots and still ticking like new!
Depending on your budget D90, D300 are great choices. Best is D700 (full frame sensor). Then again, the upcoming Canon 5D Mark II is the first canon that made me consider switching from nikon. (check its 1080p movie mode) just my 2c

Yea but when it comes to digital slr's I love nikon but that cannon is nice.. some dumb ass (Ali) stuck the camera out the window to get some rolling shots and dropped it.

ouch man... that sucks.
i'd consider snagging a Canon... if not the new 5D, even the new 50D is supposed to be Kick ass but I'm a Canon loyalist so I'm biased. it might be smarter to stay Nikon if you have any Nikon glass... obviously. |

I love my D300, but the D3 and D700 can do some pretty amazing things in low light. Being able to shoot sports and action under indoor lighting without flash is awesome.

My next camera will def be a D300 or D700 as a nice upgrade from my D50.
