Call me crazy, but I'm really drawn to the E21. It's also probably the cheapest out of the 3.

Too bad that the 2002tii doesn’t run. Who knows what it will take to get it road worthy?

Seems like a miss to not use Bring a Trailer for something like this, especially if the local auction house charges the typical commission.

Same! I learnt to drive in one of those except that it was a 320i.

Some Reddit guys who unloaded their GameStop or blackberry at the appropriate time will over pay for these.

That’s the one I’d have as well! Love the interior! As for the M5, I feel sorry for Americans who had to get it with that horrid bumper

E28 M5 is a fun car to drive, all day every day. My 44k mikes E30 325is will stay with me for a while and then see.

I'd go the e21 too Mostly for nostalgic reasons as I've owned two in the past - initially a 320i manual, and then a 323i manual. Much more tail happy / less stable than the e30, but with the 2.3L 6 they went very well.

No one seems to have pointed out looking at the photos that the 323i has a Motronic 2.5L M20 fitted from a late e30 or early e34. Would be potentially more reliable than the mechanical K-Jet injected 2.3L providing the swap has been done to a factory standard and it would have a bit of a performance bump with 168hp vs the original 141hp. I swapped my 323i to L-Jet injection from an e30 back in the day due to the K-Jet being too old to be reliable and it worked well.

They can look great with a few subtle mods:

Absolutely beautiful. E21's are typically forgotten in favor of the E30, not to mention incredibly rare, but I've always wanted to drive one to see what they were like.

Love this. Thank you for pointing that out. These cars were/are gorgeous!

That 2002tii would be so much sweeter in the original color Taiga (a rare light metallic green) listed on its fender plate. Why would someone redo it boring Chamonix? The body looks to have a decent amount of cancer hiding under the repaint down low. Still a lot of driver left in that one tho’.

An E21 (320is) lives on as 5-speed tranny and LSD diff transplants in my 02. That 2.5l M20 is sweet..

Heck, on its own I gotta think the "David Hobbs BMW" dealership license plate frame on the 2002 would bring a nice dollar.
