Hi all,

I'm fairly new to this forum as I recently purchased a used 2018 F90 with smoke white leather interior. There looks to be some dye transfer from the previous owner (possibly denim), and I thought I might be able to remove the stains using the Leatherique products, going through the entire process described in their instructions. That was highly unsuccessful, as it did absolutely zero to remove anything—didn't even lighten the stain.

Any help or advice is sincerely appreciated, as there are so many products on the market but I'm not sure which will actually work without being too harsh on the original color.

The Griot's Garage Leather Care removed denim dye transfer. Have cleaned up my driver's seat with Silverstone interior multiple times.

I got some cream and sponge from BMW, it takes some friction with the sponge but it clears the dye from my Silverstone

What is the product? Please post a picture of the the product. I would be careful and not scrub too much as you can wear away the leather surface.

Silverstone in my m4 and m8 and I use spray on sun block to clean them. Spray it on the leather let sit for 30 secs then wipe off. Fukin miracle. Managed to even remove accidental Indian food take out drippings. Good luck.

Zaino Z9 Leather Soft spray cleaner does a great job. It’s taken red hair dye out of white leather. Z10 Leather In A Bottle conditioner as a follow up is a nice product too.

These are two of my favorite products. The Leather in a Bottle on my older BMW makes it smell factory leather fresh while keeping the leather nice and supple.

I have a 2021 M5 Comp on the way with Full Merino Silverstone interior. I am concerned about dye transfer and found a really awesome product called Colourlock. I am going to purchase their "New Car" kit that is formulated for brand new vehicles leather. However, they have great cleaners and conditioners for all other leather types as well.

Check out the below video to see how well one of their products works on removing denim stains on a cream colored leather in a Mercedes. Matt with Obsessed Garage uses their stuff as well. Good luck!

I have had zero dye transfer on my silver stone seats in the first year. However, I don't wear denim.

For leather care I use Swissvax products. Absolutely love them.

Whatever this thing is.

Have had it for like almost 4 years now and multiple cars. Works on other colors too like on sakir orange. No need to get crazy leather products to pull stains off, it's all hype in my opinion.

Same. No chance I'm dropping sun block on my white leather seats.

That said, I appreciate the feedback. Since putting up this post I tried the Leather Masters Dye Transfer Cleaner and it was also completely ineffective—like, not even slightly reducing some of the stains. Next up I'll try the Colourlock or Zaino that a few have suggested. Will report back soon.

Honestly they don't look nearly as bad as some of the stories I've heard from others on this forum, which is why it surprises me that so far two highly recommended products haven't even had a slight effect. Here's a couple pics, pardon the poor lighting.

Does not surprise me. In fact I am more surprised at the claims of stain removal. I hope it works, but I have not had good luck removing leather stains. I think prevention is the key.
