Suntek PPF on M4
I had Suntek PPF installed on the front end (hood, bumper, front fenders, headlights, & mirrors) of my 2021 M4 Competition. I was not happy with the install as there were lifted corners, gaps in the edges, overlapping edges, hairs, & bubbles. Unfortunately the installer used precuts. I went to a 2nd installer and contacted Suntek directly who agreed it was substandard. The original installer said he would do whatever it takes to make it right but I'm not interested in letting him touch it after this sloppy work. I'm thinking about getting it all redone at a different shop. Any feedback on the quality? FYI I paid $2,400 for this.

Yikes
At the same time I've seen this level of work more than once and usually owners don't mind unless it's obvious. Some of those pictures are super obvious some that aren't I'd be able to live with. |

I use to own a shop that did tint and ppf, some of the pics are unacceptable. It needs to be removed asap and redone. Did the shop have decent reviews? I mean shit happens, just ask for a refund and see what they say. Or take it else where and have them give you an estimate to fix it and make the first shop pay.
Worst case file a credit card claim and show them the suntek email. |

That's poor work. You shouldn't have all those edges lifting already as it will get worse and discolor over time as dirt collects. Sloppy cutting as well. Also that's pretty expensive for just front coverage so you definitely didn't get work done that matches the price you paid. I would try to take it to a better shop as some installers simply lack the talent.

Horrible, I can't imagine they let you pick the car up when it looked like that. I find X-PEL to be the best, I realize this is not about the product but the morons. Get your money back and don't drive anywhere near that place again.

Go to Unique Auto Film in Tarzana (Los Angeles)
Their work is top notch. I had my M4 front bumper and side skirts done this past week. Quote:

Was the original install done by a Suntek authorized dealer? If so, I'd try to leverage that as much as possible. If you specifically went to that installer because Suntek recommends them, then they should stand behind the quality. I'd get on the phone with someone at Suntek in the morning and see what they can do. I'm sure there's a Vice President of Crappy Installs or something like that. Indicate that you'd like them to recommend a better shop and you want financial help with the removal and reapplication. The last thing Suntek wants is negative reviews of their products or dealers. They should work with you.

As a person that's used had well every film over the last decade on my vehicles I can't recommend Suntek Ultra over Xpel Ultimate. Yes Suntek has slightly more clarity and easier to install but the adhesive is not nearly as strong and it will lift much easier.

I had STEK on my last car and it held up amazingly well. But that was 3 years ago and films seem to continue to improve. |

My personal preference is Xpel Ultimate but Stek, 3M Pro and Suntek Ultra are good films as well and the most important part of PPF is the skill of the installer. If you have a trusted installer it's best to just go with whatever film they carry.
