the trunkline extends past the end of the roof towards the window, just like the 3 series vert. this shows that it will open up backwards and fit the roof in the trunk.

Maybe... The thing is that the trunk is split into two, and that is unlike the 3 series. Most of the time, when you see a split between trunk and roof lid, it indicates a soft top...

this is clearly NOT a hardtop. Notice the lines on the top? there aren't any. It's a soft top. no question about it

You can see cut lines on the top. It's probably just camo'd to look like a soft top.

Soft top camo on top of the metal, they did the same with the 3 prototypes.

I do NOT want to see a brand new model coming out within.. at least 3 years.

I'm not feeling it either. Yet. Perhaps with the camo off it will look better but it seems pretty bland.
