Floor mats: maxpider vs oem bmw
Has anyone experience with Maxpider Kagu mats and Oem BMW rubber mats w/ lip?I have maxpider in my other vehicle and they are very nice. I'm curious about a comparison before I decide for my 2021 X5 G05.

I was a big WeatherTech fan for many years but wanted to do something different for the X3M.
Biggest gripe with WeatherTech is that they have tons of cracks and crevices that require cleaning. Yes, you can take them out and pressure wash them or run a drill brush but that's not always possible or convenient. Kagu makes an EXCELLENT mat that provides as much (or more) coverage than WeatherTech mats. It's also very thin and light, does not have tons of channels to hold dirt, but is fully waterproof. The edges of the mats are "rolled" towards the carpeting of your car and blend in nicely compared to WeatherTechs which have flat rubber edges and allow dirt through. The biggest downside to Kagus is the hideous but nicely constructed 3D logo. I thought it would drive me crazy but after installing them, I totally forgot about the logo. Now, to answer your question... I sold the X3M a few weeks ago and picked up a '21 X5M which came with the BWM all-weathers. The build quality of the BMW mats is superb and it blends in nicely with the look of the car. Two downsides... 1) the BMW mats do not provide as much coverage as Kagus. 2) There are lots of nooks and crannies for dirt to hide and no matter how much you clean them, the first time you step in with your shoes, it leaves footprints on the rubber. The Kagus are excellent at hiding footprints. Bottom line for me, I will be changing out the BMW all-weathers and replacing them with Kagus. |

Others have filled in the holes with black silicone and placed BMW or M-Sport logos over the stamping. I think it's easier to take a black magic marker and paint over the 3D logo versus the fabrication route. |

I decided to go with the BMW OEM all-weather floor mats. Amazon showed all Maxpider mats were sold out. I have limited access to aftermarket-pre-shaped floor mats in Germany.

I bought these winter floor mats, much better than the OEM, they cover the side for about 2 inches and most important they cover the rear in the middle. The quality is very good and I love the softness of the TPE and very easy to clear compared to the OEM plastic
