Everything is much much better, but is it enough to hold off the Camaro? I don't know.
Edit: LOOKS-WISE^^^

Power wise, how could they be 100hp lower than the Camaro? And last I checked the Camaro SS comes in at 3800lbs, which makes it 300lbs heavier. Regardless it's still going to be slower just as it has always been. The Camaro's V6 has 300hp for crying out loud. |

Within the next few years, the average car needs to get 37MPG highway. Not sure how they get there with these gas hogs. Horsepower and weight needs to be reduced.

Hey bimmer, nice catch. I appreciate you 'bolding' out all the important bits but I still read the whole article. What to do, I cant help myself. I am car-o-holic
Anyway, I agree with you on the looks of the next Mustang. The front looks great.....a hint of futuristic design mixed with muscle. The interior isn't bad either(except for the speedometer...120mph ...camon) I'm really disppointed with the engines though. There is absolutely no update . I read somewhere that the next mustang will get a new 5.0 Dohc V8 with 360hp and more fuel efficient then the 4.6 V8 . That article also stated, the current 4.0 V6 will also replaced by a more efficient 3.5 V6 producing 270hp. but I guess that article was wrong. Or maybe it was right but Ford couldn't afford to do it due to the "financial crisis" going on.

Ford's definition of Traction Control = Completely Dead Throttle.
*cough* leaf-spring suspension *cough* Just like the last generation... garbage. Shiny and sculpted garbage, but still garbage. -Chris |

This car is a let down as compared to the base model camaro. In this order... Engine, suspension, styling. Though the stitching on the leather looks great. |

I see alot of people saying the camaro is much better. Listen in transformers i would have said the same thing . But in real life i saw it and it was very very cheap looking inside and out. It was at the miami auto show. The lines of the car do not flow as well as some pictures may reveal. Some pictures online you may have seen that impressed you were probably an SS with body kit, wheels , etc. And it looks somewhat impressive but don't be fooled because in real life it appears to be the same quality as a Cobalt. The mustang is leagues in head of the challenger or camaro when it comes to the interior. And as for the outside it isnt as similar as everyone says. In fact for a mid cycle face lift it is very different. The only thing that would lead me to believe people saying it looks the same is because the overall shape of the car isn't so much different every quarter panel has been replaced, hood , rear end of the car, side body sculpting etc.. As for the motor the 4.6 is actually a very good tunable motor , and can unleash 400 hp with very little work done to it. And after many reviews i have seen , videos, etc. The challenger in the 1/4 mile with 420hp still doesn't triumph stock 05-09 mustang gt's. And even if the bigger beefier 5.0 would come out i highly doubt they'd make it 400hp because that is simply to close in performance to the gt500.
OH almost forgot the speedo on a gt will read 140, for some reason there are pics of the gauges from a v6 floating around. Just my .02 |
