Thinking of going there on my Honeymoon.. How safe is it for Americans? how hot would it be in Sept. and are there any Decent Beaches? what should we know before getting serious about going? ie laws etc.. any help would be appreciated

Don't think Dubai is a good place for a honeymoon. Can't even kiss in public without getting arrested.

Apparently you haven't been there in a while have you? It's westernized more than the u.s is currently. They practically have nude beaches now and Russian prostitutes all over the place. Don't be ridiculous, You can kiss your partner in public. This isn't 1970 anymore.

horrible place for honey moon, but it's a must see IMHO. it's very safe country, it's all british people, filipino workers, and indian slaves (sad but true)... arab population is about 7% so that's pretty safe for americans.

again, HORRIBLE for honey moon!!! egypt might be more fit for that, but also might be less safe.

honestly the only 2 places i'd recommend people to go to in the arab world is 1. iraq (americans seem to love that place, there's thousands of them there), 2. Lybia... gorgeous country!

While laws are not always enforced, it is illegal for couples in Dubai to hold halds, hug or kiss in public - much less have sex on the beach.

Well, coming from an outsider who is not a typical Yank There are in fact many things to do - an experience of a lifetime not to be missed. You can see the arab man scratching at their balls their their white thobe - a sight for sore eyes. All hotels serve alchohol and you can walk around in shorts and walk hand-in-hand - no one cares. 4 wheel driving in the desert dunes is something not to be misses...the sea is gorgeous....all the markets are definitely not to be misses either...

Visited Dubai once a few years back. My gf's uncle has hotels there. Good place to visit, especially if you're willing to shell out a couple thousand dollars, as in $$$$$+

Now for a honey moon, I'm not certain. There are very strict laws there, but it is a good place to shop for jewelry if you were thinking of that....I think you should have Dubai as a place to visit while you're on your honey moon, rather than just go there for the honey moon.

....and yes, YOU DO see lambos there like an everyday thing.

Been to Dubaï many times for business since 1995. The traffic is now a nightmare if you have to drive from the beach resorts to downtown Dubaï. If you stay at the resort then you should be ok. The sooks should be seen. You have to take a desert sand dunes tour. I would suggest the tour that includes an overnight stay in the desert. Go visit a camel farm, that's hilarious. The beaches are really nice. If you are lucky you will see an american carrier group sail in front of your hotel.

Recently, a british couple was arrested for making out on a beach. They got arrested and eventually got booted out of the country. I've had temperatures up to 55C in summertime but in September it should go down to 45C.

I would not stay more than a week there.
