any lawyers here?

I am trying to find out what happened in an overtime lawsuit that I am in but don't want to contact an attorney. Is there anyway I can find out online about the case? I've been waiting for this money so that's why I want to find out myself...

If you know what court the lawsuit was filed in then you can go the that courthouse and down to their records dept and request a copy of the case file. I am assuming that this is a class action filing. There is nothing wrong with contacting the Atty's who are representing your side of the case. They are working for a percentage of the settlement and not hourly. But I would not expect a resolution for easily a year or two.

I'm nervous because this is taking so long. I'll email him now but not sure if the $1,000,000 + attorney fees is in escrow or not. They agreed to the settlement and the judge approved it but there was an appeal. I think it is because the stock price is way down and it will just be a smaller payout

If it was appealed, you're probably in for a wait. Nothing is ever quick and easy when you're talking about the court system. I agree that your best bet is to contact class counsel, assuming you are a member of the class.
