Well, with 3G going bye-bye next year, will features in your older rides be going that way also ???

Yet another reason why I prefer minimally tech optioned/connected cars. But a simple solution for future proofing is making head units WiFi enabled and to just connect the car's WiFi to whatever internet source you want, like a phone.

Wait, you mean I'll have to drive around off the grid? Like I did in the 1970s? OMG!

I also prefer minimal tech when possible and most of the stuff I generally use is over BLE with my phone when needed. I do like heated seats and would probably pay a subscription fee for them in the winter though!

I hope USB Type A and Bluetooth will stay supported forever. USB Type A will take care of most updates. Music and Phone over bluetooth can handle the infotainment.
