Buy a cheap tripod, don't shoot in the middle of the day or in the dead of the night, find a nice location, make sure your car is clean, etc.

I find taking pictures when it's cloudy or overcast yields the best lighting.

I see you live in Nottingham, so that shouldn't be a problem for you.

tripod, no flash, no bright light, sun should hit car at angle or from side, not above from above.

use funky angles, take lots of shots, so you can later pick.

And of course camera makes big difference, so people with some kickass DSLR that has cool lenses and filters will always take better pics then those with a point-and shoot cam with normal lens.

2nd that. Plus, a DSLR will yield much better pics, a Point n Shoot, will not

Hi Jay - use the rule of thirds and get yourself over to the UK photo thread.

If I head up north sometime, ill give you a shout. Maybe you can come join me on a shoot.

Personally the best pictures (in terms of cars) are partial shots/close ups rather than full car shots.

Maybe a mixed bag.

That guide looks good....just be careful of the shake, and the exposure. The rest you can play around in Photoshop
