PPF on interior...back of bucket seats?
Let me preface this by saying I have kids, one of which is still in a booster seat. Perfect kicking angle to scuff up the seat back, which happens to every car I own. Was thinking of getting the back of the seats covered, assuming that is even possible.
My concern is if PPF is meant for exterior-only, like does it de-gas over time which would not be good for interior or occupants, etc. I would like to preserve the finish of the seats but at the same time not at the expense of anyone's health. Thanks for any insight. |

That's a good question and I doubt anyone could or should say for sure. Personally, I never would speculate on a health question, especially when kids are involved.

My girls are 7 & 5. Haven't had any damage to the seats so far. Sure the seat backs have gotten dirty but no damage. Simple spray of Griots interior cleaner and a micro fiber towel take care of it no problem.

I appreciate everyone's responses. I did reach out to an install shop and although I feel the factory would have the final word, the installer said people do install ppf on the interior. Although apparently the clearcoat on the seats (and other interior parts) is not as thick as the exterior clear coat, and so can suffer damage when removing the PPF at its end of life.
Sounds like it might not be an issue, though, maybe I make the kids remove the shoes as suggested. |
