Some x5's do this. Mine does it when I use a pressure washer and spray directly into the light. Took it to the dealer they said they could not duplicate the issue but cleaned a drain anyways…not sure what that means….but it happened the very next time I used a pressure washer on the light. It doesn't happen unless I really hammer the light with a pressure washer. You should tell the dealer and see if they will replace it. I'm interested to hear the outcome.

This happened to me and i took picture of headlight right away and sent to my SA and he replaced my driver side headlight under warranty yesterday. If you talk to right SA they will replace it without any hassle.

It looks like I am not alone. I had mine replaced with my local dealer last summer. If you are going the replacing headlight route, it might be a good idea to take a picture before drop the car to the dealer. I had a paint chip after the replacement and had to sent the car back again for a touch up paint repair.

I have had this issue with multiple BMWs throughout the years. Some do have a drain/access plug at the bottom for access, it seems as if that is the typical weak point. Definitely replace them if you can, after repeated fogging sessions the lenses tend to become faded/discolored and you won't be able to buff it out from the outside.

Seems like this is a known case thanks for the sharing on this chat group . They are a few cases on this G05 headlights. I have been in touch with the dealer and then UK BMW back and forth and they now claim the car is off warranty because it is not in the UK at the moment !!! I don’t know whether that should be an excuse to not sort out a known headlight problem . The cost of the new headlight is almost 5000 Uk pounds . The car is under 18000 Kms and warranty expires Oct2022. Besides for such an expensive car BMW should be managing such issues better. Any advise on what my remedy should be ??

BMW NA has been painfully unhelpful in helping resolve dealer support issues here in the states, but if BMW UK is more responsive you may have a source to petition your case to, but overall BMW has become less supportive than most premiere brands, but darn it I love driving their cars.

Even when i highlighted that this seems like a real issue on some forums and their latest reply of last week (from BMW UK customer service) is that they do not make any comments on anything from the forums
So i seem stuck |
