Remember when...

...you could go to a website, any website, and not spend the first minute of your visit closing popups asking you to subscribe to an email list, or accept cookies, or sign up for 15 percent off sales before you could actually get to the content you were after in the first place??? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Eh, that's nothing, there are other websites that have embedded videos that require you to go through 50 popups to get to, then which try to add recurring appointments to your calendar, as well as open about 50 extra tabs to your browser...only to find the video doesn't work or has been deleted...however, unlike YouTube they work when minimized on your phone, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how fast you're trying to close the site. I'm talking about firstrowsports of course

Remember when you could argue with your friends at the bar and nobody had a phone to fact check, so it was a battle of who's lie might be closer to the truth.

I remember when the digital age was born, it was so slow, but man it was fun. It's all faster now, but much less fun, and you can never tell if what you're reading is truth or paid-for-truth.

There needs to be an Internet V2.

Which is precisely why all phones should be checked when entering a bar. The cell has completely eliminated passionate bar fights.

Remember when

Me and my friends used to spend all night having a blast in Griffith Park when we were teenagers. 4,000 plus acres of wilderness in the city of L.A.

Now it closes at 10pm.

I remember Compaq PC's coming preloaded with Ask Jeeves and all the old people loving them. LOL

Netscape was what the in-the-know used. Yahoo filtered too much porn.

Price Club had "internet in a box" for $99. Me and a buddy got all the drivers necessary (on FLOPPY DISK) and then offered to install AND train up to 2 hours, for the same price.

He later became a local ISP, while I chose to sleep at night.
