Asians definitely love BMW's.
From all your meet pics, I thought the Asian BMW owner thing was a Cali specific thing. But even here in NY, 3 out of our 8 E90'ers were Asians.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I lived in Japan for three years and I wish HALF of Americans were as nice and kind hearted as ALL Japanese are.

I dont think we can generalize from the cali meets. I think people from similar communities tend to bond more naturally, and that is part of the reason you see so many Asians in those meets. In Houston, you see a distributed mix: Indians, Asians, Whites, some Hispanics, very flew Blacks. That doesn't mean that only a few Blacks own bmw's, contrary, i've seen plenty of 7 series and what not driven/owned by them. You gotta keep in mind what kind of person will be attracted to these types of enthusiast websites: fairly younger, 20-35 year old, computer savvy, professional class. And the fact is, a large number of young, educated ethnic groups (Asians, Indians, Iranians) make up that category.
BTW, after being a member on e46fanatics, if i had to put it on any one ethnicity, I got to say, percentage wise, I think Iranians/Persians are probably the biggest BMW fans. The Asian community is split a lot because of their tendency to go Asian (G35, IS350, various Hondas). Go spend a week at e46fanatics.com and then tell me what you think. |

Obviously it bothers you that you're starting this thread, if you don't like people for who they are (not by their race), you should be driving Ford and you're on the wrong forum |

Younger Japanese people are no longer as polite (cultured) as you think of their older counterparts. A recent survey among Japanese themselves, reveal that young Japanese people are getting more & more rude these days. So we can't say "Japanese people are very nice" because obviously NOT all of them are nice. however we could say "most Japanese people are nice" |

it is true that Indians/Pakistanis/Afghanis are Asians, some even extend that to West Asia (As far as Turkey to the West), however, most people in the U.S., when they say Asians, they mean East Asians. But you're right, I guess the pan-Asian (East and West) culture is similar, maybe its a part of the immigrant experience (and the quest for achieving success and having fancy cars and a big house).

Well, that is very cool if you're old and still into this stuff.
I think the computer savvy has to be a given though. Quote:
