Korean and Japanese Flag similarity?
Okay, this one is totally off topic, but I figured that with all the Asian members, someone would know the answer to this.
My father served as an American officer in the Korean war. We had a brief discussion about the pre-WWII Empire of Japan, and how that country at one time had rule over Korea. Have you ever noticed how both the Korean and Japanese flags have a white background with a circle in the center (with red color). He said that after the Japanese left Korea, the Koreans changed the flag a little bit by putting the Yin/Yang symbol in the middle and by adding the marks in the four corners. Is this true about the similarities or is this coincidence? |

They may look similar at a glance but the foundations behind these flags are based off of are totally dissimilar.
South Korea's flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_South_Korea Japan's flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_japan There are no similarities regarding the basis of the flags but as you said, there is indeed a similarity about the aethetics of the flags.

Similarities? Our Dutch flag:
http://www.umich.edu/~iinet/oip/Imag...lands-flag.gif And the Luxembourg flag: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afbeeld...Luxembourg.svg Only the Dutch blue is more dark. Luxemburg is a neighbouring country with only about 450,000 citizens but well doing(understatement )

Blackanese
Cablanasian?
So he gets to watch AZN on Hi-Def TV. I think Rae Dawn Chong beat him to it. BTW, Hines Ward rules. Some D Back called him a "Chinese Be-atch" and he laid him out cold a few plays later. |
