Anyone riding one? I picked one up yesterday and what a hoot!

We have an extensive network of paved bike trails around me and thought an eBike would be fun, but really didn't think they'd be legal on the trails with people walking and pushing baby strollers and whatnot considering it will do 30 mph with a 40 mile range. Called the local PD to make sure before buying it and they had no issues nor any prohibitions in the local ordinances.

If you have experience with one, please share your thoughts on upkeep and must-have accessories. I know I need some type of bag system for trips to the grocery and hardware stores.

Kids and adults just stare like, "What the heck is that?"

That's a real cool gadget, wouldn't fit me, but for those who dare, go ahead.

Two obvious accessories: a good helmet, and AFLAC.

Already have various motorcycles but have been considering something electric for a runabout just for ease of use and not dealing with heat and gas fumes. I like these if I lived in a denser part of the city but more looking for an e-motorcycle instead of an e-bike. Need something that can do over 30 to not be killed on these roads. I want something akin to a dual sport.

Yep, an eBike would not be welcome on a country or suburb road with higher speed limits.

At 80 lbs. it's too heavy for being only a bicycle as some assist is needed, so to get some exercise (and not treat it like a dedicated moped - which requires a license plate, insurance, and maybe a motorcycle license) I try to keep the assist on level 2, and if there's a hill I'll bump it to level 3. And when I'm in the moped-only mood it's full throttle in Unlimited mode.

Put my refundable $73 deposit down on the C1. No production date announced yet so who knows if it'll actually happen, but it'll be cool if it does!

A friend in the medical field told me they see a lot of eBike riders in the ER. I'm not surprised as bike trails do not appear to be made for 30+ MPH with power poles and trees just inches off the path.

That looks amazing! I'd be shocked if we don't see new legal restrictions on these things within 3-5 years. It has to drive cops nuts to see these on the street with no license plates. LOL

I'd be surprised if you didn't have laws already in place...

For us in Ontario the jist of it is 32km/h (20mph) speed limits, pedals and a helmet.

A couple of those posted above would need licensing.

I checked before buying and nada. I'm going to assume the ebike should remain in Class 2 while on a bike trail, which is pedal assist up 20 MPH, but that was not specified in the local ordinance. Basically the laws that apply to bicycles apply to the ebikes for where I live.

And yes, those pictured above w/o pedals would need licensing as they're electric motorcycles.

Just placed my deposit as well. Did you see a color option? When I received the receipt it showed a color of white. I noticed on their website they have a grey that I'd probably prefer.

This thing is almost $4K, too each his own I guess but that seems a bit much to me. https://super73.com/products/super73...lor=dark-earth

Yeah, I like the gray too. My bet is the colors will change once it hits production and we will get a chance to order the color combo we want. That's my hope anyway.

Yeah, the one I posted is a full on motorcycle. Licensing, plates, helmet, etc. All required. I need something small and zippy I can buzz around on while my wife rides her little 125cc Honda Monkey. My Guzzi is very cranky at anything under 30 MPH so riding with her is just not all that fun. The Super 73 C1X will solve that, if it ever goes to production.

When I received my confirmation it said "Color: White". I contacted Super73 and asked if it could be changed to grey and she said what you expected - once you're contacted for payment you will be able to choose the color option you want.

Excellent! Did she give you any other details? Dates, how serious they are, what the response has been? It's been so quiet. I'm dying for more info!

Nada.

I just found out about it from your post - thanks!

How long have you been on the list? Any idea how long the list has been open?

I put my reservation in maybe 4 months ago. No idea how long its been up. Its admittedly a total gamble but it's only $73 and is supposedly fully refundable. Even if the company goes under (which I doubt will happen) and my deposit is gone forever, it was fun to dream.

Now if Alpha Motors would only come into reality, I'd really be pumped.
