What's the best leather cleaning/conditioner product for the leather seats? I see that there's a BMW leather cleaner but it's supposedly only for leather trim. What do you guys recommend for the leather seats and how often to use it?

Gyeon leather cleaner and top it with their leather shield. Maintain with Leather coat.

Colourlock products work really well for me. Always have.

Light cleaning, I use an Ivory soap bar blotted on to a damp microfiber cloth.

Full on cleaning I use Colourlock products and protect with them as well.

I don't think you can go wrong unless you just don't clean and protect your leather. All the products are probably very good.

Detail Werkz, Gas Monkey Detailer use SWISSWAX LEATHER MILK Leather conditioner. No need for fancy top coats that are questionable. Best stuff I have seen so far.....

How about nano painted toilets and top coat weekly for mass consumption...... Ceramic getting to be quite a fad......

I realized nobody, including myself, has given you a time frame of how often, as you asked.

I clean my steering wheel every three months and then re-protect it. That seems to get the most "action" and gets the dirtiest. I clean the seats and leather areas (door handles, center console, wherever you touch) and re-protect every six months or so.

We don't drive very much (6,000/yr between all 3 vehicles) so that seems to work for us.

I have ceramic coated the BMW and the Exploder's leather and have found the BMW leather (red, 'basic' leather) to be super slippery now. I know that's the idea, however I am not a huge fan of that aspect. Yes, it does as advertised, but it lost what little leather feel it had. For what that's worth. The 911's leather I just use Colourlock because it is "better" leather and also light chalk color and gray, versus the red and black in the BMW and Exploder.

@FORTWORTHCOWBOY I did actually ceramic coat the tops of my washing machine and dryer...just because I had some left and was too cheap to throw it away. It works wonders and causes all sorts of clothing items to go flying and it's funny to listen to the wife curse me when she's picking up sox and unmentionables from behind and beside the machines.

Another vote for Colourlock cleaners for (ceramic coated) Silverstone leather. I've only used the light cleaner but have the heavy cleaner, too, in case I need it.

Since it's only me >95% of the time, only the driver's seat and steering wheel have needed cleaned with anything more than a damp microfiber towel. I spray on the cleaner (foam) and agitate with their gentle bristle brush about once/week on high-traffic bolsters, plus elsewhere as needed.

I just applied a second ceramic coating treatment to all leather surfaces (nearly a year after the first treatment), and I should be "good to go" for the upcoming winter muck and next summer's sun. (I use Carpro CQuartz Leather.). The coating has the subtlest sheen and is slightly more slippery to the touch. But I value knowing the light-dye leather is protected.

As mentioned, some of our lighter M-series leathers have a little more coating/finish to protect against abrasion and color transfer. The Colourlock Color Shield does add a little bit of slipperiness to the feel, but that tells me the protection is working. It definitely does NOT make me slide around in the seats.

If you like the texture of leather without the protective coating then you could skip using Shield, or you could use the other kit that has Conditioner instead of Shield.
