Frivolous purchase
I suddenly want a reasonably priced (I truly want an insanely costly Delonghi) espresso maker for my office. Anyone have one that they like? I would say under $150
I have a Keurig for my morning coffee but around 2-3pm I have a craving for a small tasty espresso. It’s also taking everything to not buy a Revolution digital toaster for home. I need Helllpppppp |

I had a manual one, it's not worth it!
I upgraded to Belville Bambino and a good grinder. Eventually wanted to master a "bottomless porta-filter". Wasted a lot of coffee and constant mess to get to this state. Still likes to spew little jets of coffee out the side if I screw up something in the process. I find myself watching the coffee extraction and settlement. https://youtube.com/shorts/M3FFRO6OEwU?feature=share Edit: I can't figure out how to embed it. Argh, sorry

For $150 I don't think you will get anything "automatic" for espresso. Sounds to me like what you want is a superautomatico. The cheapest one I have seen (and own) is the Phillips Carina. It was just on sale for like $399 or $350. I managed to get it for $299, but not sure if it was a pricing error.

We have a Breville with the built in burr grinder which is key for good coffee. I think we paid $450 5-6 years ago. It's decent but in the US and with standard power it's hard to pull enough pressure to get a great espresso or frothed milk.
I stayed at a friends house and used their Nespresso with LavAzza espresso pods and thought it was a very good for an inexpensive machine. |

Now the breville, i have the same machine and stopped using the pump to froth, i just use a saucepan and a $10 hand frother. It is faster, easier and doesn't kill your expensive pump. |

For under $200 you can find the Cuisinart Manual Espresso Maker EM-100. It’s an older model but so worth it for the price. Highly recommended.
