370Z is arriving
Not a bad looking car for the money. I especially like the flared rear fenders.
Sorry for the poor quality pics. Camera phone makes a better phone: |

i'm obsessed with this car at the moment. i'm dying to try out the synchro rev-match feature. the car has cayman S performance at half the price.
i think it looks great, after seeing so many pics and getting a glimpse in the metal. it has a great sense of presence. i would black out the inset with the fangs on the front bumper, mainly because the fangs look childish and the blacked-out effect would add visual width. i would also change the diffuser or paint it matte black. i'd swap out the wheels too. for oem they're actually very nice, but i'm not crazy about them. all in all it seems to be an amazing vehicle. a perfect case of evolution done right. design: 8/10 performance: 9/10 value: 10/10

wait till you see it in person. it's definitely a different feel. the headlights and fangs really change the front, and the back is obviously distinctly different thanks to the fat hips and boomerang taillights. the roofline is also distinct and interesting at the same time.

really? a two-door sports car (as opposed to sports coupe) with a higher mfr-claimed power rating, and a reputation for being a young man's sports car would have a lower insurance rate?

Can you go back and jot down the MSRP on both and what packages they have?
The flares look HUGE on the frontal shot of the gray one. A tweak here a tweak there and I think it would look hot.

Basically:
+1 on absolutely everything BimmerLoyalist has said, even the chops. -1 on the Hyundai Coupe. I think the 370Z looks unique, and progresses from the already great 350Z. The Coupe just looks generic and doesnt grab my attention.

Now they need to do what they did to many of the previous Zs, esp. the 350Z--slap a couple of turbochargers on it.

I did not know these were on the ground yet until this thread.
Sure enough, there is a red and a silver up the street. The silver is parked next to an 08 and the 370 looks more substantial in person. I thought the 370 was smaller in just about every exterior measurement???? I also did not know the wheels are Rays forged. Better looking in person than on here. The red seemed to show the lines better. And I am a silver guy. The silver just did not do it for me. Black or gray will be worth a look. The interior looks so much better than my 350 did. Nice suede touch on the door panels.

Overall I think it looks like it will be a pretty nice improvement on the 350Z both visually and mechanically. The interior is certainly much less cheap looking.
Nissan claims it is a bit heavier than the previous generation, but a friend who was evaluating it for SCCA solo competition weighed it and it was actually 75lbs lighter than a similarly optioned 350Z they also had.
