How Does JIC Weld Titanium W/ Stainless Steel

how does JIC manage to weld titanium to stainless steel on some of their exhausts? it would be like stainless steel muffler with titanium tips.

im curious b/c i thought these two couldn't be welded together...??

You can TIG weld the two together but it's not an easy process because the high heat levels of the weld can cause the titanium to crack.
Not sure exactly how it's done though...
