what are you guys depressed about. It really sucks the air out of me. Im in a bad place because society will never accept me

Like I have said in the past this is no bs. I do receive professional help but it does not really change anything you know. People will always be people and be extrememly judgemental of me for various reasons I need not disclose. What can I do? I am trying to be a good guy about it. It's strange to bring up this topic here, but who else is their to talk to or gain perspective from?

i guess i just don't understand depression. i never let myself stay in a state of depression. it's uncomfortable for me. i don't really believe in clinical depression either, i think it's a conscious choice people make to stay in a depressed state. don't really understand how people can't just switch those feelings off, get over it, and get on with their lives. guess i'm just different, i never lose control of my emotions or feelings.

Okay, Blake, unless you have gone through certain things like ridicule, embarassment, and harsh judgement on a regular basis, I understand it would be hard for you to understand. Embarassment and shame is a never ending killer.

sometimes when I get really depressed like when I got kicked out of school, or when I totaled my first car. I masturbate, it makes me feel better. Having sex won't cut it has to be masturbation when it comes to depression.

Seriously man, you're in the wrong place. People here aren't qualified to help you. It seems as though you know exactly what's making you depressed, but you're not sharing. Despite this, you're asking for advice from strangers.

Seek advice from professionals and seek support from friends and family. Real friends, not online BMW enthusiast friends. I know you've said that you're seeing a professional, but it looks as though it's not effective. Look for somebody else.

just google it, effects of masturbation or search on yahoo. I do eat and sleep. I'm just trying to not drink anymore, too. I don't want to gain any more weight. I wish I were150 again.

Really? I haven't read any research studies on those comparing brain function before and after a major depressive episode. However, it doesn't surprise me that depression is not good for your emotional well-being. I know for a fact that psychosis is definitely neurotoxic and can kill your neurons in your long run.

If you're not BS'ing, the "professional help" is not right for you, you might need to shop for a new psychiatrist and psychotherapist to take care of your issues.

i just dont know how people on this site can help you if you cant help us understand your situation better

depression obviously sucks, and you just have to fight back against it. its your life, and you shouldnt let anything bring you down. whatever the case is.

ill tell you something about myself. i just recently broke up with my girlfriend of over 3 years. the relationship got so out of control we just stopped talking. flat out answer. do i miss her? of course. do i love her? i truly believe shes the love of my life. here i am...truly making MYSELF a better person. i know if this happened a year ago id be depressed out of my mind. but i know better now. if i can be in this healthy situation right now, i def know you can. you get hurt...you fall, just dont stay down.

if music affects you, start listening to stuff thats more positive and makes you wanna stick your "middle finger to the world, to the world, to the world" lol

push yourself. know what you want to change and change it

you say you get embarrased, and all that stuff on a daily basis. trust me you are NOT alone. im not gonna thread jack this but i can DEF relate to you
