PPF estimate is it reasonable

My 2023 M3CX individual is arriving in a few weeks and I have an estimate for full + interior and front only estimate. I think is a reasonable price, but I would like to know others recent prices. Thanks for the input.

Stek DYNOshield (includes the top ceramic coat provided by with Stek)

Full car plus interior (carbon buckets) $4,548

Front only $1790

Reputable shop and a 15+ yr experience installer.

Window tint $250

Thanks

That's definitely reasonable for full car PPF, front only, and even the tint for full car. I would personally go with a PPF that does not have ceramic coating built into it. I would get ceramic coating added on top of regular PPF. It will be more durable and last longer.

To remove old front end PPF, polish the car, full car PPF, cquartz finest reserve ceramic coating, windshield ceramic coating, and wheel ceramic coating i paid 2x what your full car quote is.

I'd be much more concerned with the quality of their work than whether it's a "reasonable price"

Those prices would make me nervous tbh

That seems pretty cheap. I had stek dynotek on my x5m and the film is amazing! Water beads off, and the film feels and looks like Clearcoat.

I thought I had a great deal at ~7K (w/ military discount) for full PPF, ceramic (exterior and interior), and ceramic tint.

So your proposal sounds considerably cheaper.

I second the motion and recommend regular PPF without hydrophobic properties and then add some coats of ceramic on top of the PPF.

Also your $4,548 price seems pretty low. Have you done a great deal of research on the shops in your area and read the hopefully unbiased reviews online?

No sorry, I should have stated my current location.

Detail Zone in Sevilla, Spain. IG @detailzonesevilla Facebook DZS

Prices are in USD.

I spent a good amount of time at the shop looking at some of the cars he was working on. He had a few Porsche a Ferrari and was working on a Urus. I look at few of the cars and they all look amazing.

Maybe in southern Spain the price is different than in the US. I was not expecting that much difference.

Oh that makes more sense then. In US it’s more like $7k full car and $2.5 for front

He works with Xpel, Stek and a few others that I don't remember. I ask for Stek because of the recommendations of members on this forum and reviews online.

I will ask about the choices without hydrophobic properties / ceramic coat option.

Exactly. A good friend of mine is giving me an awesome deal at $7000 for the PPF and ceramic coating plus an additional $500 for ceramic tint. Even this is way too cheap. But I’ve given him a ton of business and he’s hooking me up with this car. Everyone else in the area of Tampa that’s even somewhat reputable is $9000 plus.

Tampa is expensive compared to North Miami. A friend of mine just did allover Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF and ceramic for $5500 on his new M3 Competition.

You need to find some friends in the Miami area that you can visit for a few days and get it done here for several thousand dollars less. 😉

I was remiss. Full PPF starts at $5995. Depends on the car. M340i was $7k. Miami? With my spoiled wife, a few days there in a 5 star hotel would easily cost me much more.

I don’t really think it matters where you are in the country. I always refer back to the old cliché “you get what you pay for”.

The answer is simple, take a road trip without her!

She won't let that happen. Anyway, if something should go wrong in the future and need warranty work, I have no interest in driving to Miami.
Would rather stay relatively local.

Have you gotten quotes from a few shops in your area?

Yes, they're relatively all the same. This guy is awfully busy doing high end cars that cost multiple of my measly $70k M340i. I had to wait 2+ months.
Got quite a bit of unexpected money. Car ended up for free even though I had no idea funds were coming when I ordered the car back in Sept 22.
It's much more important to me that their quality of work is excellent.
What good is PPF if it looks like crap? I've seen their videos whereby they completely redid a $200k Porsche that the owner was dissatisfied with the previous PPF work done by another detailer. Guy was so happy, they ended up doing his other two 911's. And they were GT3’s.

Why do you recommend PPF and ceramic be separate? I had that done on my X5, and it has been great. I now live in a different location though, so have to use a different shop for my G80. The shop I am going to use swears by XPEL fusion, which has ceramic mixed in. Says it’s the only thing he uses, so my only other option would be going with a different shop.
