What's a good watch
I am looking my first semi expensive fine watch, preferably in the $1000-$2000 range. I don't know much about brands and have been buying David Yurman for many years now and was thinking about one of their watches. Does anyone think their watches are any decent? (quality wise)
I like silver bands with dark backgrounds and with a sleek or elegant style if that helps any. Any recommendations are welcome. Thanks a bunch.

go classic, go timeless, go rolex. it costs more, but holds value over the time.

Omega>TAG IMO....If you would save up a little more I would go for a Rolex....They hold their value VERY well. If you ever want to upgrade you could trade in your current Rolex and they will probably give you what you paid for it or a little less.

I haven't looked into Omega much yet but I did look at Tag heuer, some very beautiful watches. I'll have to check out the prices.
Was looking at this one... http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collecti...CAG7010.BA0254 - I'm guessing it's too pricey though. Appreciate all the help guys, I'll take a long look in the brands mentioned.

The favorite of my watch collection is my Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant 1903. Its a real fancy watch. I have a couple of TAGs as well, but I think for your price range, you can't go wrong with an ORIS. Find some place that sells them and go take a look. They are really put together nice and it is one of the less pricier as far as automatics go.
