Interior Detailing
I came across this YouTube video about detailing and protecting the interior of the G87 M2. I'm not sure if you're on here, but good stuff! I saw the other videos with the crazy Tint due to being in Arizona and digging the other mods you've done so far.
I am curious if anyone else goes through this process on a brand new car? Of course I want to keep this car in pristine condition and do keep it in the garage, never will drive it in the rain or now, and open to any suggestions. |

I also recently decided on a 80 or 90% ceramic windshield tint because the greenhouse upfront gets the car HOT in the south. No surprise there. |

I'm planning on using Colourlock's new car kit. It comes with a mild cleaner and a "shield" product that helps prevent friction and therefore creases in the seats. $40.

I know on obsessed garage the Colourlock guys said you could use just Shield for the first 2 or 3 years, then shift to Protect (which can be followed up with Shield in places subject to friction such as the bolsters). However, if I was to go with Colourlock, I'd probably go with Protect from the start, and then put the Shield on the bolsters and call it a day. Seems weird you would skip over the conditioning step just because the seats are new, and it certainly can't hurt. |

I have used BMW leather cleaning foam and BMW Interior Cleaner for years for plastic and rubber surfaces.
https://www.bmw.com/en-au/offers-and...oam-300ml.html https://www.bmw.ca/en/topics/offers-...er-250-ml.html 9 years without any issues. I applied a BMW leather lotion once and I didn't like the sheen so I stopped using it. The leather seating surface and the steering wheel are factory coated with protectant and very durable (at least for Dakota Leather) and never needed conditioning. |

Yep, that’s the one. Lots of Amazon reviews said it makes the seats slippery, so I’m hesitant to buy it. Does black leather really need ceramic coating, or would a decent clean every few months be sufficient?

Sure, black seats are probably not as bad when it come to staining but I had experience with the Black seats get stain from French fries grease, Sunblock and just plain old sweat (such is life with kids). The coating will probably help prevent the contaminants soaked in hence easier to clean for sure. |
