Model 3s are NOT M3s!

More than once I’ve seen and heard Tesla people refer to Model 3s as M3s. Surely we all agree this has to stop.

Saw this plate just today in fact (which I get is to economize letters but you get my point).

The ///M3s aren’t what they used to be anyway. They lost a lot of their caché and lustre. Comparing Teslas and Mazdas to ///M3s actually isn’t nice to Teslas and Mazdas.

Obviously he wanted an M3, but his wife made him buy an EV, so he bought the one that is most akin to a M3. (I assume this is the performance model)

After this thread, I realized that my neighbor's Tesla Model 3 plate is similar... it's his five letter nickname followed by M3.

(In reality, I don't care. M3 is probably a legit shortcut for Model 3... whether BMW owners like it or not.)
