What the hell is the difference? In my case, i only use quick detailer as a drying aid after a fresh wash. I rarely to never use it in between washes due to it causing swirls.

so whats the difference?!

some can do both, like ammo hydrate. i usually use chemical guys v07 as i dry. but quick detailer is fine too. adding lubrication to the drying process is never a bad thing.

quick detailer isn't meant to clean entire panels, its more for touch ups from a bug or bird dropping. ive seen people use to do hoods and stuff before a meet, works ok for metallic whites, silvers, greys as those colors dont show swirls. i would never use that procedure on a dark black/blue though.

I don't really use quick detailer at all because yeah, you'll scratch up the paint.

Drying Aid usually has a lot of ceramic content so something like Obsessed Garage's Drying Aid is excellent in adding a nice topper to the paint which promotes water beading and staying clean looking a bit longer. I usually spray some on after washing. You could use quick detailer or diluted rinseless wash for this same purpose but I think that OG product is the best of the bunch.

I've been thinking of switching to a drying aid like OGs or Xtreme Topper and not using my quick detailer.

I'm happy with the OG product, I've tried a few and I keep coming back to this one. One bottle lasts a super long time, you only need a very small amount each time you apply it to a car.

Money2536 made a lot of videos about how he tried a bunch and eventually branded his own product because he couldn't find the right product. He regularly says he'd stop selling it because its a pain to bottle as soon as he finds a better product and knowing how much he chases the best of the best, I believe him.

i was watching Pan the Organizer on YT and he stated that Xtreme Topper and OG were the same. Essentially OG was a colorless version of Topper. Have you tried Topper?

car is already ceramic coated and TW flex wax as a topper. I use an ego blower, but car still requires a small wipe down after.

I love using a drying aid. For one it can leave great gloss and some protection and it helps prevent water spots.

Currently using CarPro's Echo2 diluted at 1:15 and happy with it. I'll try Gyeon's ceramic detailer once I coat my car.

Game , you may want to consider adding some Carpro Reload to your Ech02 for a bit more protection, i've been trying it and happy with the results

You can also buy it pre-made if you prefer. The pre-made version is a bit more refined I guess you could say. But yeah I do prefer my Elixir over my Ech2o as a drying aid. It gives more pop and definitely is more slick and you feel it through the towel when I dry over. And like you say it has Reload so it's great to use to top your ceramic coating after a wash or even a LSP on its own like I'm doing at the moment (I do clean my car ~ weekly, it doesn't last extremely long on its own).

I now reserve my Ech2o for dedicated quick detail duty or like removing bird poop for example but when I run out I might just keep the Elixir for that duty to although there is a significant price difference.

So this means it could be a spray wax, it could be a quick detailer, it could be a spray ceramic, etc. But yeah you can save time by using a product with protection.

TheMidnightNarwhal Interesting info, thanks. I bought a bottle of Elixir for my father-in-law for father's day a few weeks ago. I'll be seeing him next week and washing his (recently ceramic coated) car, so it'll be my first time actually using Elixir and comparing it to my experience using the Ech02/Reload mixture.

I've read mixed results with Elixir. I believe it's a combination of Echo2, Reload and possibly hydro? Seems like a good product in thought but the autogeek guyss seem to prefer a diluted Echo2.

But yes I'll be using my Echo2 in the same way as you are...for the occasional spot clean.

I was really looking forward to using Reload 2.0 but since I've decided I'll be ceramic coating my car in the next couple of weeks with Gyeon Mohs, I'll be using their ceramic detailer as a topper. Yeah I did read that overall to on some posts (shoutout to Autogeek), kind of same complaints with Reload but I think people apply to much.

In my experience, it buffs off nicely. I spray the panel with 1 spray, and sometimes I'll spray my towel to if big panel and go over it with the drying towel, then flip to a dry side and do a quick buff and voila.

I haven't used P&S Beadmaker in a while. My car was paint corrected and ceramic coated two years ago. I use a 1:1 ratio of Technicians Choice TEC582 Ceramic Detail Spray as a drying aid as a topper to my coat.
Wash, blow most of the water off, spray TEC582 and dry off.
