I put a deposit down on 2025 M5 G90

I recently put a deposit down on the new M5 with BMW Tampa. The salesperson said it could be 2 years but everything I’ve read online is that it would be mid and end of next year.

Thoughts?

Congrats man. It's going to be an amazing car. Reeves BMW? Used to live in Pinellas, bought a few parts from them in the past. Off topic - how tall are your garage ceilings?

Yep. BMW tampa (no longer Reeves).

Garage ceiling is 11’ I believe. Plenty of room for bikes and other cars up top 🤣

I’m trying to put a deposit down on M5 Touring as well. My dealer just asked for $20k over sticker. Saying it’s going to be very rare. Anyone else dealing with ADM’s this far in advance?

Is this fair?

Thanks! Excited to replace my 2016 328ix touring.

Think you're going to find some more cooperative dealers if you decide that you don't need to be the first one in town with it. We found our RS6 in 2021 and didn't pay any markup with our dealer in San Antonio. When we asked them (after we signed paperwork) why they didn't mark it up, their answer was that they just are in the business of moving cars and don't want to sit on them...

Yup, I think waiting is the right call. Thanks for the advice. Great to hear you got an RS6 with no markup.

Congrats! If I may ask... how much did the dealer ask to put down for the deposit?

Great garage and collection btw Love the Duc's on top of the lift and the 911 GT3 on the far end.

They asked for a $2500 deposit.

Thanks. I have too many bikes and they just collect dust… but they all pretty!

I also blew the engine at the track last Sep on the GT3 and it was fully covered under warranty. Thank you baby Jesus

Lol with the warranty covering your engine on the GT3 motor. Thank you baby Jesus indeed

You and me both with having bikes that collect dust. I have a couple that have been on stands for the last year and one that I use regularly for the track. The wise decision would be to sell them, but hard to part with the babies

Yep. Dodged an $85k bullet 😳

Same here, I should sell probably 2 of the 4 bikes and a car or two. Going to be tough decision when the M5 comes in. Maybe just make the wife park outside

That seems nuts. I’d tell them to pound sand. Assuming the Touring definitely comes to the US — it’ll likely be rare because not as many people will order — not because it has some limitation on its production run from the factory. Sounds super greedy to me.
